Gifts for hand luggage only guests

I don't fly often and can be a bit daft so am wondering what sort of gifts people buy for guests in this position. What are the typical mistakes?

My DH is annoyed as he always buys bath gel 😁

I suspect the typical mistakes are assuming people will have room in their hand luggage for gifts Grin.

Can you order gifts for delivery to their home? If not then you have to find something that's not liquid/gel etc or at least if it is it needs to be teeny bottles. Lightweight items as there's a weight limit for hand luggage, nothing bulky as they have to be able to close their bags. Jewellery? Silk scarf? Book (just the one, they get heavy Wink)

I don't think it's practical to give actual physical gifts to someone who's flying with only hand luggage. I would suggest either a voucher or tickets for an event/show - that kind of thing.

I went on holiday with my folks for christmas one year, and we were very limited by luggage weight. I got my dad some pocket sized binoculars, and a piece of jewellery for my mum.

I appreciate all the suggestions. I've also hit peak Christmas commercialisation this year so we have all agreed it's a good opportunity to scale things down a bit.
