I have 3 girls 12, 6 and 9 and I’m struggling so much this year for ideas for youngest too! Oldest has made a colour coded power point of (to make it more helpful for Santa!! Grin) and although we have had a chat about worth over substance it has given me heaps of ideas!!

I think it’s tricky when you have 2 or more of the same sex that you don’t feel like you are repeat buying...

We are trying to cut out the plastics, one hit wonders and crap that we have given into previous years. Both girl do a hobby that they like to receive gifts for and there has been the usual LOL’s OG’s books etc but nothing that is sticking out as a memorable present or something that I think would make their morning (and yes I know that’s not what its solely all about!!)

What is everyone getting their DD’s this year, would love some suggestions!!

My DD (8) is getting a couple of lego friends sets, a pomsie, a build a bot, spinning mirror ball, some book box sets, a Simon game, some fimo themed sets, a new leotard for gymnastics, a jigsaw, and yes sadly an Lol doll.

My 9 year old never wants much and doesn’t play with toys or craft much. She gets clothes / vouchers from friends, pjs / slippers from MiL so this year we are thinking of -
Smart suitcase (her request) - cabin size with wheels!
Skateboard was requested today
Watch
Alexa dot (also for her 7yo brother)
Duvet cover set if I could find one she likes!!
Books, books, books
Boy baby doll (still loves the dolls but they get played with less and less so thinking this might be bottom on our list)
Build a bear clothes / dolly clothes
Her brother has bought her an LOL doll!

She also has asked for those hideous LED trainers! And ‘smart boots’ as she has vans hitops for daily wear. She might get the latter but prob not the former as only got the vans recently.

It’s her 10th birthday soon too so that needs to be covered - keeping an eye out for ideas!!

A pair of earrings as she recently had her ears pierced.
Smiggle lunch box
Lego mat
Lego friends set
Labyrinth game
Cinema tickets to our local boutique cinema
Sylvanian tram

Stocking stuff
Xmas pjs
Socks
Pants
Chocolate coins
Girl Talk magazine
Books

11 yo will not be getting much as took out a phone contract for her last month. Some earrings, maybe Harry Potter stuff and a pair of Adidas superstars.

7yo is getting lol stuff - I refuse to buy stuff that expensive not for presents so she will be pleased. She only has two she bought out of pocket / birthday money. She's getting the shop thing and some dolls. Also a little live pet puppy. Then bits and pieces.

If they like Lego you can never go wrong with that.

The younger two might like a giant cuddly toy each.

A new outfit each that they can wear not just at Christmas.

For stocking fillers, Wilkos is fantastic for craft and art stuff - good quality and cheap.
Flying Tyger has nice novelty items - earphones for the 12 year old, toys and games for the younger ones

9yo:
Instax camera
Roller skates/blades
Science kit
Lava lamp
Jacqueline Wilson magazine subscription
Karaoke machine
Gel a Peel

6yo:
Lego Friends Hospital
My Fairy Garden
Aquadragons

Thanks all I have frantically googled lots of these ideas!!

I feel rotten as middle DD has asked for a hover board and O just don’t think we have the space nor me the nerves for her to use it, her 2n’d choice was a Fitbit. She is a very sporty and active child but I’m not sure at 9 she needs to be counting steps...

I just feel rotten that I don’t think she should get either of the main presents she has asked for.

Youngest has asked for lots more toy toys which I much prefer but guess I was looking for the ultimate WOW factor on Christmas morning...

Poopsies though....how much?! Confused

Fitbits (or cheaper versions of them) aren't that expensive, and it can be fun counting your steps. DS used to love doing it. He was a very lazy gamer but that gadget got him up and moving

What about a disney garmin activity tracker for the 9 year old. I want one but they only come in kids sizes :(

Jemimafuckinpuddleduck · 30/10/2018 20:56

Just checked out the Disney Garmin tracker, that looks awesome for my youngest as she has asked for a digital watch and see it does that and lots more including helping with homework time etc...

Thanks everyone!!
