I make my Grandpa a food & drink hamper each year but I think they're getting a bit same-y due to my restricted imagination so looking for some ideas of nice things I can include please! He's 88 and eats and drinks most things (likes a tipple).

I usually put in: chutneys/jams, shortbread biscuits, Christmas pudding, locally brewed ale or cider... any other ideas please MN?

I make one for my dad every year even though I am sure he is now sick of them.

Fancy tea bags of Breakfast Tea rather than his usual PG Tips.
Chocolates
Fancy Jam and marmalade
Bottle of plonk e.g. his tipple of wine
Caramelised nuts from Waitrose
Mini Jamon Serrano on wooden stand from Aldi (big hit as a present)
Shortbread
Cheese
Mini panettone

This year I am going to home make some baked goods for him to eat himself and give to guests who pop in and see him. I am making a Christmas cake and some mince pies.

I normally just raid the Christmas aisle in Lidl or Aldi. Lebkuchen, mini pannetone, mint chocolate creams, chocolate gingers, individual Christmas pudding, marzipan bits.

A nice pork pie - you can get the Dickinson and Morris proper Melton Mowbray ones in some supermarkets.

Go to Homesense they have a section full of gift-y food items, I usually just raid this for my granddads hamper and chuck in a nice posh bottle of whisky too

Fruit jellies
Glacé/candid fruits
Fudge
Bottle of mulled wine
Cheese straws
Dates

Non-food ideas - whisky stones, pretty Christmas napkins, festive wine bottle stopper?

Might be worth looking at pre-made hampers from M&S, John Lewis or F&M for inspiration.

A mug, fluffy socks, crackers, a selection of lovely cheeses?
