Good morning
I'm thinking of buying Ticket to Ride to play with family at Christmas but there seem to be a few different versions. Can anyone tell me which one would be best? Adults and a 9 year old will be playing.
Thank you and have a nice day x

We have the original US 1900s one. Is pne of our 10 yrs olds favourite games- he loves the strategy.

I’d also say the original US one.

The others introduce complications which are fun but harder to learn

milienhaus · 22/10/2018 09:03

I would vote for the Europe version personally but US is good too!

KC225 · 22/10/2018 09:21

I bought the European one after all the positive comments on here, but it was a bit of a damp squib. Family of four 10 year old twins. We played it abiut 3 times and then went back to family Trivial Persuit and Exploding Kittens.

The Europe version is our favourite game. Not so keen on the US version.
I seem to be the only person who hates Exploding Kittens. So dull.

If you can find it, the Nordic Countries edition is lovely & "Christmassy" looking. It's so beautiful!

Latenightreader · 23/10/2018 03:34

Nordic countries also has the advantage that it can be played by two people (if this may occur) without making big adaptations, unlike the other versions.

my 7 and 10 year old played it with us (original) with no problems whatsoever. Really enjoyed it

Stompythedinosaur · 23/10/2018 14:08

I would say the original US one is the best. I love the Nordic countries version, but a max of 3 people can play (I think) so not good for a whole family.

GingerHippo · 28/10/2018 09:30

I currently have the New York version in my Amazon basket which is a shorter version, I believe. Does anyone have any opinions on this? We are almost all adults and I can't get my DS involved if it's too long a game.
