I'm debating whether to get dd her first sylvanian bits for Christmas.
She will be 3 in December so I have been wondering if she is a bit young Confused
If I do go for it which sets would you recommend as a starter?
I'd like to get a small set to start with so I can make sure she likes it! Smile

I got my daughter her first sets for her 3rd birthday which was in April. She plays with it most days. We got a wooden dolls house from Asda on sale, and got some of the sylvanian characters (rabbits and hedgehogs) and then some of the furniture sets (living room, bathroom etc). Preferred the wooden house to the actual sylvanian houses.

This was the dolls house we got direct.asda.com/george/toys-character/wooden-toys/wooden-light-up-dolls-house/050222166,default,pd.html?cmpid=ppc--ad--------dskwid-s92700033839463676_dt&&cmpid=ppc--george--------dskwid-s92700033839463676_dt&cwd=geo&cwf=pm&cwc=ppc-pla&ds_kid=92700033839463676&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI4Im49uiV3gIVQ_hRCh2DPQ-OEAQYAyABEgIlY_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&dclid=CNj2_Pfold4CFa-pUQodg2cPeA

Ah thank you
Does she find the small bits fiddly to handle?
She has Happyland dolls house so I was thinking maybe the treasure ship or ice cream shop... SmileConfused

We got my DD a bus, big house, accessories etc for her 3rd birthday recently. She's not into dolls at all, loves animals - was a big second hand bundle.

She loves it. I also am obsessed with them too now! Getting lots more for Christmas.

She’s ok with most of the small bits, they just get a bit annoying for me as they get strewn everywhere!

Breadfoam · 20/10/2018 22:15

My dd is 2.10 and she’s been playing sylvanians for a few months. Probably see play 3/4 times a week.
I also got them second hand so a lot of the tiny pieces had already been lost!
My dd likes the bus and the baby nursery windmill. She’s not so fussed with just the regular houses. We also have the school but I don’t think she knows quite what to do with that yet as she has no experience of what school involves!
I’ve got her a few more things second hand for her birthday / Christmas. She likes the babies the best.

My dd loved the horse drawn caravan, and a small cottage type house.
I seem to remember that not all the furniture fits all the houses though, so be careful.

I wouldn't recommend the car or the caravan (the car-towed one I mean - the horse drawn one as above is good) because they are a bit fragile and it would be easy for bits to get snapped off. The cake shop is nice if a little fiddly.

I would take away the small bits put them in a tub for when she gets older ,thats what i do . You can get a starter house for under £20 with one figure.x

DD1 had the cosy cottage set as her first Sylvanian building. Eight years on and it's still going strong as DD2 has adopted all the Sylvanians and plays with them most days (she's 9.5).

This is the set: www.sylvanianstorekeepers.com/cosy-cottage-starter-home

And I'd definitely recommend buying from the Sylvanian Families shop as there are decent offers for combinations of buildings etc. The Sylvanian fan club is also £10 well spent.

We got DD the lighthouse for her 3rd birthday, she loves it because it has a little light projector on top. She also has the campervan, which is good too but playmobil people end up in it more often than not Grin

We've just got my dd (nearly 2) the cat family and the girls bedroom and bathroom for our wooden dolls house. She loves it. So I would definitely say not too young. But I have taken away the very small bits for now until she is older. She plays with everything. Putting the wee characters in the bath, on the bed and rearranging all the furniture around. I plan to keep adding bits to the dolls house and maybe get an outdoor play park or treehouse type thing. Although expensive they are such good quality and very cute x
