Watch for an 11 year old DD

We think DD is due a new watch. She has a lovely Timex one but it is quite small and “classic”. Leather strip, traditional clock face. She needs to wear one but I feel her reluctant attitude to it is due to how it looks. Based on a conversation I had with her lots of girls at her school wear metal ones, more trendy than the one she has

So, where do I get a trendy watch without breaking the bank? What are good brands for secondary girls, especially ones who like to be stylish.

Identity watches are good

Surely Swatch is timeless (excuse the pun)

What about a Fitbit?

reluctantbrit · 20/10/2018 20:57

I like the identity watches.

Swatch - I had two and found that the straps are really expensive to replace and don’t last that long.

Fitbit maybe an idea, she asked last year.

Reluctantbrit I bought my DD a Xiaomi Mi band for her birthday with a pack of 3 interchangeable straps - she loves it - the whole thing with extra straps was about £30 ish

Fitbit (or in fact cheapo amazon version) are great as they also sync to their phones so no excuses for not answering a call or text!

I have a Fitbit and DD has the ID115 one form amazon and there is honestly very little difference other than about £100.
