Bose or Sonos

I'm edging towards Sonos as I can add speakers but does anyone have an opinion on the sound quality please?

I may add a pre-amp and run my record deck through it sometimes, but I do have a rig I'm happy with for that.

we have a sonos and lots of good things about it - you control it with your phone, so no losing the remote, you can add speakers, and when you do you can play different things in different rooms

sound quality is good, to my untrained ear

100% go with Sonos. You won't get a better sound quality. Bose isn't bad by the way but Sonos all the way

Sonos

We started off with a Bose system on 5 speakers, worked great we really happy for about 4 weeks, then there was a software update and after that we couldn't connect the speakers, we could only play music on one speaker at a time which kind of defeated the purpose of having a multi-speaker system.

We waited around 5 weeks in the hope that they would release a further software update to fix the problem but it never happened. We managed to get our money back and bought a sonos system instead. We now have 6 sonos speakers and they are amazing. I think the sound quality is better, it's an easier system to use, you can play the same music throughout or different music on different speakers. My husband also connects his record player to our sonos 5 speaker, he can either connect it direct or he uses a Bluetooth adaptor to play it through the speaker. It doesn't have built in Bluetooth.

We are really happy with the sonos system and are now really glad that the Bose stopped working. We also have a number of the sonos 1 speakers with Alexa built in.

Love our Sonos, I would def recommend. I like that I can group rooms or play different music in different rooms. The sound quality is excellent. Easy use app to control which you can have on several devices (we have it on my phone, DH phone and the iPad)

Thanks for the replies. That's great, just what I wanted to know.
