Fingerlings and Littlest pet shop - as my kids have never asked for them is it wisest to ignore their existence?

Dc have never mentioned either of these. Well they def know fingerlings exist as they were with a friend when her sister had one and lost it on a walk and the lost fingerling became a big topic of conversation for a week or so. But they have never asked for any toys from either brands. GPs want suggestions of toys for Christmas and birthdays and both brands look good but I wondered whether it is just opening a can of worms to introduce the kids to these toys. I mean I see they make noises and interact with each other. What fresh hell....? Is it better therefore to never have them? (—obv I want them for myself to play with really because they look ultra cool—)

Littlest Pet Shop isn't currently a popular toy. My 12 year old loved them a few years ago and even then they were getting difficult to find.
All children like different things so unless they show interest I wouldn't bother with every fad.

My ds asked for a fingerling, he got one, he was interested for a few days, now it gets left on the table. I should have just chucked £32 down the drain! Avoid their existence as long as you can Grin
Sadly i brought them on 3 for 2 at argos so he has two more coming at x mas from santa!

Oh yes, the fingerlings lasted all of 10 mins here. The toddler fiddles with them and that's about it.

Really gimmicky.

My dds like their fingerlings and have asked for another for Christmas (4 monkeys farting and burping at me isn't enough apparantly) they are played with fairly often and worth the money for my 2. (Age 9 and 6)

Littlest pet shop is pretty hard to find now but are cute, as are the palace pets which are similar. the shopkins and hatchimals collectibles are popular and very sweet. DD's have some of each and are played with frequently. The newest shopkins lil secrets are like the old Polly pockets, I'm pretty excited!!
