Fake tree under £100 that looks realistic?

Can anyone help me with recommendations please?
I need a fake tree under £100, about 6ft (but could get away with slightly taller).

We like ones that are pretty realistic looking, so kind of dark green without any fake snow/mixed tips/fibre optics.

I also prefer ones that are quite wide at the base, rather than tall and thin, if that makes sense.

Can anyone recommend one that actually looks good in real life? Even £20 ones look good in the product photos but from past experience they don't look anything like as good once you get it set up at home.

In an ideal world I'd buy a balsam hill but they are quite a bit out of my price range.

Yes I know when you mean, I got one at b&q a couple of years ago and happy with it. It might have been an Eiger, but I'm sure it was more expensive than what it is now

But be warned - you need to hook the individual branches on Confused , it has a full look which is good, but I need

a) Bailey's
B) Xmas film in background
C) some kind of gloves
D) I separated the branches to keep them categorised

Maybe I should get a real tree this year!!

We had one from Tesco last year, think it was about £40 6ft, it did have some pine cones and berries on but I shipped them off, very full but it is a ball ache to separate all the branches

I got one from Ikea this week. I thought it was pretty good - the prices are good too.

We got a brilliant Tesco one, same as above with pine cones and berries.

Tesco Direct has shut down now but look in store?

I got one in Aldi about 5 years ago for £50, the tips of each branch are the same as the balsam hill ones (ie. moulded plastic) I’ve had people go up to it and check it’s artificial as they’ve thought it was real 😂 I don’t know if they stock similar ones every year but it’s worth a look. I brought it with the view of saving up for a balsam hill one but so far I haven’t needed to.

We got one with the realistic tips from www.werchristmas.co.uk last year and it's lovely. I did get prelim though and it's amazing, looking way better than if we'd put lights on.

There's normally a 10% off code if you google too.

We got ours from Homebase. I can’t remember anything about the brand or price except it was definitely under £100! They had some nice ones

Decided to get an artificial tree this year. The Eiger tree at b & q are really cheap, are they any good?

Soontobe60 · 14/10/2018 08:28

This won't help, but we bought a really expensive one in the Christmas sales a few years ago. We paid about £30 and it should have been well over £200. It's great! I am a lover of real trees, but got fed up of the mess. Also with this tree, each branch hooks on separately and you can remove back branches if it's going in a tight corner. (I secretly still long for the real thing though 😂)

Drummingisfun · 14/10/2018 09:20

Thanks all, unfortunately no tesco except tiny express ones near me so might be bit of a mission to get one from them.

There is a homebase and b+q not too far so I will have a look there.

I looked last year in the sales but because we were at the inlaws I couldn't look in store until the start of Jan and there was nothing good left by then.

I love a real tree - we have one of those too but need a fake one for second living space.

I had a Tesco finest one for years which was lovely and it was £100. No fake snow but the odd bit of fake bark and berries on a few of the branches...

ilooovechristmas · 14/10/2018 09:56

JTF have nice ones £60-£150

We had the £100 odd pound 6ft one from tesco too and it looks really nice in real life. The branches are on hinges so come down quite easily and don't need as much separating the branches out as fake trees usually need.
