DD who is 7 has never shown an interest in these before but this week she saw them advertised and in a catalogue and has decided to ask Father Christmas for some. I don't mind this as such, I think they are lovely toys but my goodness are they expensive. Why are they so pricey?
I thought I would buy a set from smyths (the baby castle nursery for £30) and maybe get some of the figures from eBay but even on there they are so expensive. I suppose my question is, are they worth paying out for? Seems like they retain value going off eBay prices for the used stuff but I'm somewhat reluctant to pay £15 for a set of 4 little fuzzy figures.

DD is now 9 and got her first ones for her 3rd birthday. Still plays with them every week and bought herself a new treehouse with birthday money a couple of months ago.

They’re one of the few toys my almost ten year old still plays with. I’m getting her a couple of new sets and a couple from eBay this Christmas.

jacinabox.co.uk/ is sometimes cheaper than Amazon for some sets.

Keep an eye out on local Facebook selling pages, I just got my daughter a bag full figured and furniture and 5 houses/building things for £40

I was in Home Sense today and they had cheaper sets in there. They had cedar terrace for £35 instead of £60. Some of the other bits were reduced too.

we have loads of them, my DD has loved them since she was 3 shes now 7 and still wants more. I buy them now mainly from Amazon as the price drops on there a lot.

The best play value IMO have been the caravan, the log cabin and the doctors. I was lucky and managed to get a lot of the sets to start her off when our local tescos closed down and were selling them off for just a few pounds.

I would also join your local facebook selling group as there are usually some being sold on those.
