Hanging fairy lights

Hi, does anyone have any good ideas on how to hang fairy lights? Not on a tree but around window frames and around the top of a room? Previously I have unsuccessfully used bluetac and sellotape, neither of which have been successful and have resulted with the lights falling down and taking the paint off the wall in the process! Thank you.

I use thumb tacks usually the wire is doubled up so you can stick the pin between the two wires

You can get little plastic hooks made by 3M Command. They stay up with lights, but sometimes paint comes off if you don't remove them properly.

Command hooks are great for this. You can get all different sizes nut the small ones should be fine for fairy lights.
