Magformers/Magnatiles/Playmags...HELP!

I was looking to get my 4 children a large set of one of these types of toys as a joint present. Ages range from 2, to just turned 9. I have no idea which is the best option!

Are the filled in tiles better than the open ones? Which has the most play options?

Can anyone offer any opinion or advice please?

My kids aged 4 and 7 have Magnatiles and Magformers. Magnatiles have been played with loads. Magformers ignored.
I got 130 Magnatiles - it is only just enough. With 4 kids I'd say 200 at least. They are worth it though.

We have playmag. They have been played with nearly daily for 4 years now! We have about 200, started with less but Santa got more last year!

Very worthwhile.

We have magformers and my son (2) spends hours playing with them. He mainly builds cars but we also build houses and lots of other things with them.

Another vote for Magnatiles, DS3 makes house, tunnels and cars from them. We moved the magformers on as they were barely played with.
