Just that really. If you have or know a 10-11 year old boy, what do they like and what do they want?

Seeking inspiration, large and small.

I find this a tricky age too, DS is 10 and has asked for an IPod Touch, I’m also going to get him a new scooter. I think I might get him the framed edition of the new Harry Potter stamps as well.

This is the list of bits I’ve got or am getting for my son who is 11.

His main gifts are:
Beats headphones (free when we bought a new iPad) but any good quality headphones will go down well if they like listening to music etc
A gaming chair

And these are for his stocking (he has 3 little siblings who still believe)...

1KG bag of m&ms - £4.99 from home bargains
A wallet ninja - £1 Poundland
A £10 amazon gift card
A book (the X storey treehouse books are fab)
A pouch for his headphones - a few quid from Amazon
A lynx body set - £5 home bargains
A fiver
An alarm clock from Smiggle - £11
Some novelty mini hands - £1 Poundland
A scratchcard
A mini millions dispenser - £2.99 b&m
Pants
Socks

I think he’d like a game for the Xbox too but we’ll see.

And that’s it!

Smaller things- a board game? Fortnite monopoly is on our list. Various books, onesie/PJs and sweets.

JDSTER · 30/09/2018 14:57

And bath bombs, which I wouldn’t get normally during the year.

Passthecake30 · 30/09/2018 17:22

We're thinking of a switch, he doesn't play with anything other than iPad/Xbox so no point in pretending otherwise!
Might also get the jumunji board game for him and dd (9) to play.

He also needs an upgrade on his scooter, a 2 wheeler rather than his maxi micro, any suggestions? This one might fall to his bday.

KingLooieCatz · 30/09/2018 17:25

Make your own bath bomb kit (will be scrutinising reviews carefully, some duds around)
Travel pillow for camping (he kept nicking mine this summer)
Warhammer will feature largely and has almost limitless scope

He pounced on the Brightminds catalogue and circled quite a few things so I'll seek to divvy them up when family ask what he wants. He has a December birthday so we need loads of ideas.

Stocking will include a scented squidgie and chocolate orange.

If we feel the need for big ticket items I'm considering chess computer and/or mobile phone watch.

My boys only 6 and almost 9 are getting gaming chair, basketball net between them and a stunt scooter. Some cheap ps4 games, fortnite wallet and books.

WipsGlitter · 30/09/2018 20:17

Watching...

I had been eyeing up the jumanji board game but the reviews are terrible passthecake.

My ds1 will be 10 in march. He wants those soccer dummy things to practice free kicks. They seem to work out about £120 for 3.
He's expressed an interest in about 4 different football tops.
Both ds want fifa 19 for the switch, but they only got fifa 18 a few months ago (Xbox though).
Ds1 also wants some harry potter lego. Particularly the brickheadz. He's seen the harry and Hedwig one but there's a ron and Dumbledore set that is even cuter.

Surprise wise, so far I've picked up a few bargains. A proper 2 man tent from halfords (everyone I've mentioned this to has initially been Hmm but if someone gave me a tent when i was a kid I'd have been delighted).
A stunt kite.
He's very artistic so I've bought some charcoals and new sketchpads. That bit more grown up than the craft set I've bought his brother.

I was thinking about a gaming chair, tickets to something, maybe a drum kit. He's got zero rhythm though.
