Christmas pillowcase - vertical design?

Odd question I know - as a child I always hung up a pillowcase rather than a stocking or sack for Father Christmas to leave my presents in. I would like to do the same with my daughter.

I am therefore looking for a Christmasy pillowcase that can be hung up on the mantelpiece, so it would be nice if the picture on it was vertical rather than the usual horizontal. I’ve had no luck searching - any help from the MN hivemind?

Nothing comes to mind apart from getting it custom made from ebay or somewhere?

Why not design your own pillow using photos. Would be lovely and personal

No ideas, but we did pillowcases too!

I have a stash of all the ones I rescued from various ‘chuck outs’ at my parents over the years, they don’t match our bedding and they aren’t Christmassy, plus when the dc ‘outgrow’ a bed set I always keep the pillow case. My dd likes to use her little my little pony one from when she was about 4 (she’s now 14)

I bought proper hessian sacks from the range last year to put family presents under the tree in but to be honest I love the memories in the old mismatched pillowslips. It reminds me of a nice simple time when everything didn’t have to bought brand new to #makememories

Here, although I agree with pp that something home made or recycled would be better.

Could you buy some fabric and make one?

JeezYouLoon · 28/09/2018 22:17

I got personalised ones from the internet years ago, they're still going strong.

We decorated plain ones with fabric paint pens one year when I was about 6. DSis and I are in our 30s now but our mum still has them.

Can you get an iron on transfer or something to stick onto a plain white pillowcase?

ifiwasabutterfly · 29/09/2018 11:46

Are you crafty? I would make one if I was you. Freezer paper is great for creating stencils from. You basically cut out your stencil out of the paper and then iron it onto the fabric and it sticks. You can then paint it and peel of once dry.

ifiwasabutterfly · 29/09/2018 11:49

Or if you are not confident you could cut out of fabric as you can get paper that you can use to stick fabric to fabric. You could then blanket stitch around the designs which is v simple. Would look good with something like a gingerbread man?

Thank you all for your suggestions. I am crafty and i could of course make something, but just for once i was hoping to find the right thing for sale - i was thinking something like this but vertical, but i’m guessing it just doesn’t exist:
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Father-Christmas-Santa-Claus-Duvet-Cover-Quilt-Cover-Pillow-Cases-Bedding-Set/302462423897?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131017132637%26meid%3D927529deb8b24cd6b06ec74531fa74c8%26pid%3D100033%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D8%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D311473386045%26itm%3D302462423897&_trksid=p2045573.c100033.m2042

thenewaveragebear yes, that’s what ours were like too - i seem to remember I always chose a womble pillowcase or a dalek one Grin i was just hoping to find a good christmassy one this time round. Ah well, random mismatched pillows it is!
