Books for teens

I always see suggestions for books for younger kids but I am really struggling with what books to by dd(14). Even she isn't sure what she likes anymore as she hasn't read for a while. She used to love reading but I think it's a tough transition between enid bottom to adult literature.
Please wondrous mumsnet inspire me, and maybe others struggling to get their teens into reading again.

DD1 is an avid reader. At 14 she was reading books by
Eva Ibbotson
Mary Hoffman (the Stravaganza books)
Rick Riordan (Percy Jackson books)
Trudi Canavan
Joseph Delaney (Sppoks Apprentice series)

Has she read the Divergent series?
Or hunger games?
The knife of never letting go was one book in another trilogy that was good.
The books that have recently been made into films- paper towns, the one with the cancer kids...hope that description helps!
There’s loads of good “teen” fiction around... I love it!

DS (13) is the same, struggles to find books he thinks are worth reading. However a friend gave him Scythe by Neal Shusterman and he loved it, and immediately bought the second in the series (there will be a third but not sure it is out yet).

Maybe if you could pinpoint a genre it might help. Do you think she’d be more taken with fantasy, humor, adventure, romance or angst?

Pretty Little Liars
Hunger Games
Game of Thrones

Google is your friend! I'm sure there will be a big list of popular book series for teenagers 😊

I agree with the Hunger Games and there’s a series called Tomorrow when the war began which is popular.

Rainbow Rowell - my 13 year old has devoured all of her books - Fangirl and Carry on, Eleanor and Park - all really fresh and relevant to todays teens, she currently reading Crazy Rich Asians and enjoying it. The Fault in Our Stars, Everything, Everything, Holding up the Universe - any of these would be perfect...

Some of the authors my DD likes are:
Malorie Blackman = Noughts & Crosses series
John Green - he has written load of good teen books
Gayle Forman
