Hi,

My family are actually staying at home this Christmas for the first time ever! So I'm looking for Santa experiences to go to. We did the Audley End miniature railway Christmas when my dd was tiny. It was good for really little ones, but I'm looking for something with just a little more interaction (audley end you stay seated and Santa comes to you for maybe a minute, perfect for frightened littlies as they don't have to move!)

We are happy to travel about an hour, I heard some positive things about Ickworth house. Just wondered if the mumsnet hive mind had any other ideas?

Thanks a million.

When mine were still of an age they loved Baytree garden centre at spalding. Run by a german family and completely OTT on decorations, live reindeer etc and Santa always lovely. It's probably right on the limit of your hour's drive but I'd still recommend.

Thursford “Santa’s Magical Journey” is absolutely lovely- immersively festive. Might be slightly further than an hour away

Oh thanks! I will look these up.

My girls travel well so if it's truly magical we could stretch a bit further!

Another vote for Baytree. It's making me quite nostalgic thinking about our lovely trips there. We used to go on the first Sunday of Advent.

Just looking these up. Thursford looks amazing but it is 2 hours from us. Maybe a bit far.

I've looked up Baytree in Spaulding, it doesn't mention it's Christmas stuff so I'm assuming you can't book?

How old are they? Thursford is sooooo good that even Prince George etc go there to see the big man. Prime slots get booked up months in advance, had ours booked since May!

Marsh Farm in Essex isn't within an hour but it's probably nearer for you than Thursford,

The Christmas stuff is so good at Baytree that the 'advance look' this weekend sold out 2 months ago. The website will get updated. Be patient!
