What was in last year's stocking?

Can you remember?! And did they play with it? This is a bit rambly, but each year I seem to pay out oodles just for the "unwrap factor".
I put in lots of consumables (sweets, hot choc sachets and toiletries) and must have spent £50 on "stuff" that has been largely ignored.
Beautiful unicorn hat / scarf thing not allowed at school due to health and safety concerns. Cheap keyrings etc that broke.

Today i found a magnetic dress up doll that DD (7) has never played with and happily added to the charity pile :-(
Today I spent £2 at a car boot sale and bought
a personalised light up keyring;
a jigsaw in Its original packaging;
an activity book retailing at £12.99 ( probably a fiver in the Works) and
a magnetic snakes and ladders game.
I'll add the sweets, toiletries, pjs.... and a Lego kit (knock off from Wilko), some books and something crafty (probably hama beads).
Is Santa being mean? Or is this the way forward?

The most played with thing Christmas day came from the stocking.... a sticky chicken that you pinged and it stuck to the ceiling 😂

Total tat and wasn't used beyond new years day but they loved it. I've bought unicorns for this year (at £1 they are a Bargain!!)

But otherwise
Blind bags (shopkins, playmobil, pusheen, lego)
Keyring (they have been eyeing up the initial ones from smiggle this year)
Top trumps game
Stationary
Beanie boo teddy
Sweets/chocolates - always a giant chocolate coin and chocolate orange.
New cup/bowl for breakfast.
Small notebook/activity book.
Jojo bows/hair accessories.

I use to put lots of little bits in my Ds stocking but they never got played with. So now he gets sweets chewing gum and a bottle of coke. He also had a sack under the tree that his presents go in. The first yr he got a bottle of coke he was so happy as very rarely gets fizzy drinks. He said that was the best present he got from Santa 😂

The absolute number one best stocking gift arrived today. It's a Lego toilet. DS is going to be so insanely chuffed with it. He often jokes about how much he'd love if Lego made toilets so he could put it in the houses/offices he builds. He's going to be so pleased that Santa had the elves make him (the pieces to build) one. Grin

The purpose of stockings in our house is just to let the dc know that santa has been, and to give them something to do and open before the rest of us are ready to get up and attack the tree. Figure out the purpose of the stockings in your home and decide from there what to fill them with. I go for pants, socks, chocolate coins, kinder egg, Apple, orange, blind bag, bath bomb, stationary. I try and go practical

Chocolate, a calculator and Lego.
