Please offer any ideas for my girls Xmas presents. Every birthday and Xmas until now I've had ideas galore, this year, nowt.

for the youngest-

www.amazon.co.uk/Bigjigs-Rail-Magical-Wooden-Train/dp/B00NAYJQ4E/ref=sr_1_1?s=kids&keywords=fairy+train+table&tag=mumsnetforum-21&ie=UTF8&qid=1537107033&sr=1-1 (it is a steep price though, may be able to find on ebay for less?)

for the oldest, maybe a bike? or a micro scooter? both are great gifts.

teacherspets · 16/09/2018 15:15

We've got that train set! Currently sprayed all over the playroom!

My daughter is 4 and has so far asked for Power Dough, New barbie with play doh kitchen, Baby alive that poos, Teksta cat, doggie doo game and sprinkle stix. Obviously she wont be getting all of them though...

jpclarke · 16/09/2018 15:34

Lol dolls are a big hit with my dd5 and my nieces from 6-9. Dd wants a bike, Barbie camper van and a surprise. Not sure what to get my near 2 year old though.

NothingWithoutEffort · 16/09/2018 15:36

Lego Boost for the 8 year old?

FingonTheValiant · 16/09/2018 15:44

Funds are really tight this year, but we’re going to get them a board game (we do this every year) and a subscription to a weekly comic. They’re 6 and 8. They love the idea of a present that keeps arriving bit by bit, we tried it last year with a monthly and it was a big success. I worry that doesn’t seem like much, but we’re both from big families and there is always plenty under the tree.

AlecOrAlonzo · 16/09/2018 15:46

Melissa and Doug wooden castle. My girls have played with it non stop.

sleepismysuperpower1 · 16/09/2018 15:58

figonthevaliant oh that's a great idea re the weekly comic! are you doing an elf on the shelf this year?

FingonTheValiant · 16/09/2018 16:23

We don’t do elf on the shelf, but instead of an advent calendar the elves bring a Christmas book or Christmas film every day (they’re the same ones every year...), and occasionally I throw in some chocs or an activity.

We’re looking at either The Phoenix or The Beano. I think the Phoenix looks like a better range 🙂

VanessaShanessaJenkins · 16/09/2018 16:25

My 4 year old dd is getting a proper scooter, lots of craft stuff, stationery and ty toys.

NothingWithoutEffort · 16/09/2018 18:38

Oh, the Phoenix is great - DS loves Fridays because of it!

Bumbumtaloo · 16/09/2018 19:39

DD1 who is 9 at Christmas has a scooter that lights up £20 from The Entertainer, not sure if it was on special offer. A diary that locks, a wrapple and a chest of colouring pencils and a book on drawing. Some other bits and bobs that I can’t think of. Oh I just remembered some sea monkeys too.

TheGirlWhoLived · 16/09/2018 19:59

Ooooh I have two dd’s- 4 and 8 (will be 8 in October) and I have SO many ideas for them!

Moon ball, world map in the tub, barbie care vehicle thing, barbie in general, lol pop up shop/bigger surprise/ house/ under wraps, duvet cover/blankets with characters on, secret pillow, pillow pets, lush stuff, smiggle stuff, unicorn pajamas, audio cd’s, Julia Donaldson books, Mariella mystery chapter books, outfit each, magazine subscription for the eldest, dress up chest painted by myself- filled with dressing up things (costume jewellery and charity shop finds mostly!), jigsaws, board games (another couple of orchard toys ones - pizza pizza and find my egg?!, also fantastic gymnastics and chow crown), barbie dvd each, ponies, playdough, own box of tissues (snotty children), string lights, glitter tattoo kit, promise, Guinness world records, top trumP’s, blind bags, Harry Potter Lego minifigures, Lego in general, hair colour spray, Claire’s accessories bits, sticker books, new drinks bottles and lunchboxes ( ridiculously overpriced ones that they’ve been lusting after) and a selection box!

TheGirlWhoLived · 16/09/2018 20:00

Promise should be pomsies- apparently my phone doesn’t recognise this as a real world —unsurprisingly—

TheGirlWhoLived · 16/09/2018 20:01

Obviously they won’t be getting all of this (at least not from me- we have a large and generous extended family- these are the only two grandchildren at the moment)

FingonTheValiant · 16/09/2018 21:31

Ooh good to know Nothing, I'm definitely leaning towards Phoenix over Beano.
