Bumbumtaloo · 12/09/2018 23:10

Mine always get;
A book
Knickers & socks
Shower gel (we don’t have a bath)
Toothbrush
Toothpaste
Hand sanitizer (mine have a thing about it)
Tissues (another thing they have)
Lip balm
A brush
Chocolate coins
An orange
A notebook and pen set

And some plastic tat. They’re 9 (at Christmas) and 6 both girls.

Reaa · 12/09/2018 23:13

Similar to the above

Pants
Socks
Toothbrush
Toothpaste
Chocolate coins
Small Lego set
Lip gloss
Earrings
Pyjamas
Christmas Day outfit
Slippers
Bath bomb
Satsuma
Cereal bar
Carton of juice

Reaa · 12/09/2018 23:15

Forgot to add

A book
Note book
Pen

makingmiracles · 12/09/2018 23:20

Mine are various ages from 7 to teens but I have put the following in stockings (obvs age appropriate)

Socks
Pants
Lip balm
Bathroom bomb
Novelty Hair clips
Silly game/mini game
Pooing reindeer
Nail care set
Chocolate coins
Fruit
Mini can of pop(we don’t usually drink it except when eating out, so a treat!)
Marshmallow figure/on a stick
Novelty stress ball
Scratch cards
Mini lego sets
Minifigure lego blind bags
Hot choc satchet (galaxy/wisps etc)
Key ring
Mini note pad/pen
Grasshead/grow your own crystal tree
Traditional small wooden games eg pick up sticks/dominios etc
Mini mind bender puzzles (usually made of metal/wood)

WaxOnFeckOff · 12/09/2018 23:29

We mainly go for for food/drink treats nowadays as DC are teenagers. I just try to bulk it up so tubes of pringles, boxes of hot chocolate/coffee, big bags of popcorn or marshmallows.

You could add in things like:

Drinks bottle/cup
Magazine/comic
"gift" vouchers either real (pizzahut/itunes) or made up (movie night with mum and dad/water fight)
Can of fizzy juice as a treat
lights for a bike/scooter
head torch (especially useful if he is Beaver)
gloves and hat
neck buff
Little science kits or lego sets
travel pillow
elastic band ball

parcelandpeony · 13/09/2018 01:40

I usually just include small toys that go with collections my son (5) already has, that way I know there won't be random toys floating around as we already have a box to store Lego, a bucket of action figures, etc. This year his stocking will have small Schleich animals, Lego, a superhero action figure, Pokemon cards, and maybe a small lolly or two.

sophisticatedsarcasm · 13/09/2018 06:42

Some of his roblox action figures
Potato gun
iTunes voucher
Books
Toothbrush
Deodorant
Chocolate
And whatever other small stuff I see related to his interests

Alanamackree · 13/09/2018 06:54

Bulky filler like a sticker book/comic
Crayons/pencils/markers (school supplies will be running low)
Sweets (choc coins and a bag of haribo)
Something mum would never buy like bubblegumWink
Toy (small lego set)
Soft toy peeping out the top
Orange (which we’ll squeeze for juice at breakfast)
Bath bomb

SocialPiranha · 13/09/2018 06:59

Mine always have socks and pants in theirs. It’s like a tradition now.

Other things off the top of my head this year and previous years:
Pens
Poster
Notebook
Bath bomb
blind bags (Lego, imaginext, playmobil, roblox)
Sylvanian families baby
Magazine/comic (rolled up)
Sponge

stargirl1701 · 13/09/2018 07:07

Apple
Satsuma
Choc coins in foil
Peg person
Knitted toy (MIL provides)
Crafty thing - star weavers last year
More wool/thread for crafting in the year
Some Brio (preloved from eBay)
Holztiger figure
Tinti bath colour

We try to be plastic free and aim at zero waste all year round so Christmas is no different. The foil on the coins can be recycled but the packaging on the bath colour is landfill, I'm afraid.

We are using Peepul for the peg dolls and Conscious Craft for the craft. Looking at basket weaving for DD1 who is 6.

I’ve just remembered we also put a colouring book and pencils in and some smellies (kids ones).

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 13/09/2018 13:54

Over the years...

Pants
Socks
Sweeties
Mini sugary cereal
Lego blind bags
Wind up torch
Novelty stationery (scented pencils etc)
Book
Top trumps/card games
Book token
Pocket microscope
Water bottle
Small Lego sets
Pyjamas

BlooperReel · 13/09/2018 14:29

Mine get various items such as:

socks
chocolate coins
a chocolate santa/lindt reindeer
kaleidoscope/projector torch
LOL doll/Playmobil blind bag figure or whatever their latest fad is
Mini notebook
novelty pen

Smiggle is fab for stocking fillers by the way.

stargirl1701 · 13/09/2018 21:36

@WaxOnFeckOff

It's a cardboard holder with cling film wrap on the ball. The cling film style plastic is not recyclable.

My DC can't tolerate bubble type liquids so this is the alternative. Just irritating as I'm sure the wee tablets could come in a cardboard tube.

WaxOnFeckOff · 13/09/2018 21:59

Ah okay, it's just that the instructions say:

Application:
Remove the bath-ball from the foil with dry fingers.

Stompythedinosaur · 13/09/2018 23:11

In past years some of the less tat like items I've given have been:

Apron with a cartoon character on.
Swimming bag with their name on.
Swimming toys (hoops to drop etc)
Small Lego or playmobil set.
Stationary.
Mug/water bottle.
Cap with their initial on.
A book.
A CD of songs or stories.

livingthegoodlife · 14/09/2018 13:56

my ideas so far:

notebook and novelty pen (eg fluffy etc)
chocolate orange
marshmallow lolly
sylvanian animal/character
playing card game eg old maid
mini lego sets
smiggle bits
schleich animals
