Christmas songs/hymns from primary school?

A snippet of a song I hadn't heard since being in primary school popped into my head last week, and after about twenty minutes of googling I finally found the lyrics. It was 'Who Is Coming On Christmas Night' - I teared up a bit when I found it, I haven't heard it since I was about six!

I have a cosy memory of sitting off-stage in the far too warm assembly hall, looking up at the fantastic school Christmas tree and listening to all the older children singing it. So lovely! 🎄

Which Christmas songs do you remember from when you were in school? Smile

My extremely tenuous claim to fame is that I was in the audience when The Spinners recorded "The Twelve Days of Christmas" and there was audience participation and the school must have been prepared for this as we had been learning the lyrics at for the half term previously. I have a Christmas CD with it on and I still sing along in the car.

Little donkey, and the one that goes

'ratatat tat, ratatat tat, no room no rooooom; there isn't any room so you can't come in, there isn't any room for straaaaaangers'.

The first class always sang it with such feeling. Xmas Grin

When Santa got stuck up the chimney,
He began to shout,
You girls and boys,
Won't get any toys,
If you don't pull me out.
There's soot on my back,
And my beard is all black,
My nose is tickling too.!
When Santa got stuck up the chimney,
Achoo, Achoo, Achoo.

Ah @Sparklyfee, definitely my top favourite too!

Haha, I remember singing 'Little Donkey' in school - we'd sing the verses so sweetly and yet it would get to the "RING OUT THOSE BELLS TONIGHT!" bit and we'd proper belt it out. Grin

@Ricekrispie22
Did you know there’s a 2nd verse?

When Santa got stuck up the chimney
He began to yell:
“Oh hurry up please, it’s oh such a squeeze, the reindeer’s stuck as well!
His head’s up there in the cold night air, now Rudolf’s nose is blue”
When Santa got stuck up the chimney
Atchoo atchoo atchoo!

PastaSauceHoarder · 12/09/2018 22:12

You've just blown my mind, @doodlejump1980. Shock

I have fond memories of the cowboy carol from when i was in primary.
"Therell be a new world beginning from tonight, "

I remember sitting in a circle singing “we wish you a merry Xmas, we wish you a merry Xmas...” and stamping our feet to the “we all want some figgy pudding” bit.

In nursery I should add. Funny the things we remember
