After a lot of planning for Christmas this year, deciding were going to have a more minimalist xmas etc and having 4 DC to buy for we have decided we can only afford £10-20 each for each adult we have to buy for. We have stopped doing presents for wider family members but unfortunately can't get out of the following people.
Mil & FIL
DM
DF
Dsis and bil

Has anyone got any great present ideas?

Lily flame candle gift sets are usually about £15.

A cafetière with some nice coffee or a teapot with fancy teabags and shortbread.

Recipe books.

Gardening tin with packs of seeds inside.

Can you get your family to go for a Secret Santa? My side of the family is quite large so it was getting ridiculous- so much money and time wasted. Everyone is delighted with our secret Santa arrangement, one lovely gift each (we do about £30). Just for the adults, the kids get normal presents. If not, how about vouchers for their favourite stores?

Alternatively a beautiful hardback/gift edition book? Waterstones have a section on their website with Signed and Limited Edition books too.

£10 costa card each.

If they're going to be token gifts, then i wouldn't put too much thought into it.

I sew things for my parents, get a bunch of books for DH and buy for DS. We have cut Christmas spending right back. We buy things for birthdays, but not Christmas - including children.

It is amazing the extra mental space i have Grin small brain

Nice chocs- Prestat/ charbonnel et walker/hotel chocolat

Nice candle- I love The Skye candle co for gifts around this price. They have diffusers for the same price too.

Photo frame- with a photo maybe.

Voucher for meal out/ bookstore/coffee & cake tailored to the recipient’s likes.

Debbie’s has some lovely gifty things- their own range of candles for £8, lovely flower pot maybe with a plant.

TK Maxx has some gorgeous mens wallets in at the moment, leather, supersoft Paul Costelloe ones were £14.

They also do lovely soaps, photoframes, Emma Bridgewater mugs and posh candles for under a tenner.

There is actually plenty of choice in the £10-20 range, especially if you look out for deals or use use loyalty points. Magazine subscriptions, personalised photo gifts (small photo books are often in this price range) gloves or hats and scarves, toiletries, books, board games ...

It's also worth having a look in good charity shops (although even better after Christmas when plenty of people donate their brand new unwanted gifts)

Hotel chocolat - go for quality over quantity

jelliebelly · 11/09/2018 22:22

Fancy bar soap / lush bath bombs good for those that like smellies
