Substantial-ish stocking fillers for DS, 13

SkiFiend · 31/08/2018 13:44

I find it so hard to buy things for DS's stocking. His sister is easy as she likes candles, make up, nice little books etc.

I'd like to get some nice things for DS- ideally 4-5 items with a budget of £20ish per item (can be more or less). He's not fussed about toiletries. Likes computer games, Arsenal, Spanish food, funny stuff.

Previously CDs/DVDs/Xbox games would have been perfect but these days it's hard to get anything that isn't a download.

For my DS who's 13, I'm planning on

Fun snaps
PS4 wallet top up card
£10 Kaspas voucher
One of those psychic red plastic fish thingies
A mini cactus
Chocolate
Sweets
Mini gumball machine
Gaming magazine

Currently trying to source meme based items. Found a t shirt and lapel pin.

A Rubix cube?
Dd got a game called QBitz a few years ago, for 4 people- and a solo pack (to play alone/traveling or allow a 5th player on the main one) was a good hit last year.
Wind up torch or a decent head torch?
Character from a favorite game?

Does he like geeky nerdy stuff?
Maybe a good slinky, crystal growing art, decent binoculars, human body kit, ....

Grow your own mushrooms kit?

I know I’ve looked on a few science engineering and geeky sites last year for dd and saw some interesting things (although I very helpfully never bookmarked them for myself, or others) - but things like Einstein T-shirt’s, Big Bang theory memorabilia, and fun but slightly more grown up things were available.

Nerf guns still go down well but I have younger children as well , so they'll all have nerf batles
Young driver experience voucher ( they're a bit more than £20 but often crop up on Groupon etc).
Titan vinyls
Lounge pants

I always put in hot chocolate powder, a big bag of mini marshmallows and a can of squirty cream - that last one needs to be refrigerated and bunged in at the last minute, but I wrap them and hide them in the salad drawer - I know they won’t look there!

Bouledeneige · 31/08/2018 23:42

I usually have a big sweets bottle, marshmallow fluff or chocolate
Something from the gadget shop - at that age he particularly liked a one arm bandit money box and a travel clock adjustable to lots of different time zones, and a micro torch
Joke or puzzle book
Funny mug
Wall Calendar
Socks
Beckham body spray/deodorant
