As the title says what do you plan on getting how old are they and what is their budget for Xmas?
It's done every year but I think it's good for ideas and inspirations.
I'm pretty much stuck for ideas although it's early I like to be prepared before all the prices shoot up.
I plan to spend 250/300
Dc7 lol dolls, Xmas outfit arts crafts
What do you buy kids who aren't really interested in toys but are still youngish can anyone recommend spy kits science kits magazine subscriptions or activities PRESENTS?

DS will be 14 months at Christmas. I loosely budgeted about £60, excluding stocking but I am way under. In my family we have only ever had 1 main present from parents, then stocking. So DS will get 1 from us and then others from grandparents, aunts, godparents, friends, etc. He will probably end up with about 10 presents under the tree so I don't feel like we are depriving him! Grandparents and aunt will also add to his stocking.

Main present: wooden building blocks
Stocking presents:
That's not my .... book
Small wooden fire engine
Puzzle
Chunky crayons
Chocolate buttons
Socks
Hat

BlooperReel · 25/09/2018 12:35

A bike

Possibly a dressing table for her room
LOL dolls as she is still mad on them

Tom Gates and David Walliams books
A pair of converse
Then she will have a stocking with lip balms, chocolates, socks, novelty pens etc.

DD2 is 4, her list is:

LOL Dolls
LOL Pop up store
Polly Pockets
Some books
Hotel Transylvania 3 dvd
Vampirina House and car
A Lottie doll
A board game (not sure which yet)

Her stocking will have chocolates, a novelty cup, kaleidoscope and some LOL little sisters.

livingthegoodlife · 25/09/2018 13:20

DD5

solarscope · 25/09/2018 21:39

Ds(8) only wants Lego. I got discounted Star Wars lego set for him.

Dd(6) likes hatchimals. She wants hatchimal twins. I bought one and it was half the price what it was before last Xmas. She also like Lego Friends so I will try to find some discounted set for her.

(I am looking for bargains because it makes me happy :).)

Redrosebelle · 26/09/2018 09:39

My ds age 3 will be getting the hot wheels garage and a load of Happyland toys. He’ll also have the Happyland advent calendar throughout December, and a stocking - maybe some Happyland puzzles, single hot wheels. Christmas Eve box will have a bath bomb and new pjs and a book.

StarShapedWindow · 26/09/2018 10:31

DS 10 is getting an IPod Touch. First time in about five years he hasn’t wanted Lego, I couldn’t even tempt him with the new Harry Potter sets. He will also get a Micro Sprite scooter. Stocking will be Harry Potter throw, putty, sweets, a mini bowling set, posh note book, magnaformers set, bottle of Coca Cola, Tom Gates book, a few more games/bits a bobs I pick up.

DD 6 is getting a Pomsie, a Fur Real polar bear, a craft set, a Micro Sprite scooter. In her stocking so far I have a swan dress-up set, face glitter set, french knitting doll, bottle of children’s perfume, magnaformers set, fart whistle, sweets and I’ll pick up a few extra bits.

Christmasplanner · 26/09/2018 11:13

I've finished buying for DD15, the budget is a bit more because I've just got one DC. She's having an iPad , an Apple pencil, a screen protector, a case, a t-shirt and some gig tickets. It won't be a very big pile but her Father will buy her something, and Grandparents.

Her stocking presents are a hairbrush, face masks, body mists, novelty socks, pens and some sweets.

I will buy one more present to wrap up from the cat - a fluffy blanket or cushion the cat will claim.

I haven't bought a thing for anyone else yet.

oh goodness wishing i hadn't read this thread now! I have 2 DD's 7 and 4. Normally spend £150 each and then a bit more on some joint gifts. So far this year i have bought

Poopsie Unicorn @ £50 each (1 each)
LOL Bigger surprise @ £85 (one to share)
Hobbycraft glitter caddy case (for LOL storage) @ £6 (1 each)
stocking fillers so far - LOL stickers, LOL colouring book, JoJo lipbalms, disney princess surprise egg, shopkins locket surprise £20 total

They have asked for more LOL stuff, the eye spy ones, glitter pop ones and a pet which will total around another £40 each. I plan to take it easy this year on getting too many extras.

MintyJones · 26/09/2018 13:14

babysharksmummy · 26/09/2018 16:31

Spent just over £200 on DS3 and only got seven toys out of that.
It's seven toys / book sets he wants though which I would rather buy than spend my budget on stocking fillers that won't get used.

NerosFiddle · 26/09/2018 16:39

Ds will be 2 and dd will just have turned 1. I'm getting them a wooden kitchen between them at about £60. I've also bought them a lot of books.
They'll get new pjs on Christmas Eve and a new outfit for Christmas Day.

sickmumma · 26/09/2018 17:11

We are going to try and cut back this year as last year half didn't get played with! We prob aim to spend about £200-300 per child it depends how early I start!

DS 9 years - probably football boots or another kit (he's just had his birthday!), a PlayStation game and a voucher for v bucks, just seen there is a fortnite monopoly so may get that! Stocking fillers - lush bath bomb, pj's and socks, little chocolates, toys under £20 although not sure as he's not really into toys, a football, books, colouring stuff.

DS 7 years - again it's his birthday in a couple of weeks and struggling already - for Xmas perhaps a Polaroid camera, jumanji game, some science experiment type things and the same stocking fillers as his brother!

DD 4 years old - she is so easy! Lol dolls, teddies, hatchimals, colouring, anything from smiggle, pink sparkly, animals etc! Basically anything i see! Haha! Hard thing is making the boys stuff upto the same sized pile!

NotUmbongoUnchained · 26/09/2018 17:13

Mine are 4 and 2 and I have no idea!! They’re not really into anything in particular atm which makes it harder.

MishMashMosher · 26/09/2018 18:26

Mine are 5 and 7. I plan on spending about £200-250 plus £50ish on stockings each. I don't get nay plastic tat fro stockings which is why the budget is quite high.

I haven't actually got them anything yet but I have seen a few lego and playmobil sets.

The dogs, who are also my babies, will have a budget of £20 each Grin

Sunflowers79 · 26/09/2018 20:25

My triplets (BBG) are 8, usually spend £200 - £250 on each.

Getting them a Nintendo Switch as a joint present and a game each.

DD also getting an LOL Biggie Surprise and a Rainbocorn.

DSs both getting Nerf Laser and a Dino fingerling.

We’re going to Legoland for a Santa Sleepover 21st/22nd December and I suspect they will each come away with a fair bit of Lego!

My mother fills them a stocking each and their Auntie fills their Christmas Eve boxes.

Trialsmum · 26/09/2018 21:13

Ds (9) is an only child so we don’t really have a budget.

He’s getting a MacBook from us as he’s doing more school work on the computer.

From Santa he’s getting:
Harry Potter Lego Great Hall
Harry Potter light painting wand
Harry Potter trivial persuit
Some of the Harry Potter ‘school’ books
A real toolkit
A millions dispenser
5 10 trainers (a mountain biking brand)
Fox mountain bike shorts and top

In his stocking he’ll have:
My first pen knife
Golden snitch fidget spinner
Harry Potter scarf
Harry Potter top trumps
Next aftershave
Millions refill pack
And the usual chocolates

LeMesmer · 26/09/2018 23:31

DS 13, don’t really have a set budget, decisions are made about what we spend depending on what he would like. That said there is a limit!

GoPro type camera. He does understand that GoPro are too expensive but I have seen an alternative that I think will be OK.

Possibly a new tablet (not super expensive iPad)

Neal Shusterman ‘Unwind’ boxed set

Something for golf/ sailing /football / cycling activities

Guinness book of records and Ripleys believe it or not, top 10 of everything books - bit of a tradition.

World Cup DVD, huge France supporter.

Good quality pens for art

Clay to make animated films

Some chocolate for stocking

Any other small bits I see wandering around 😊

DS is not really difficult, DH on the other hand....

LeMesmer · 26/09/2018 23:35

Looking at that list will probably be about 400 euro depending on the extras to the big presents. It is a lot but he really doesn’t have anything during the year apart from his birthday. Also, we have no family apart from SIL, so it isn’t as though he will receive huge piles of presents from grandparents and other relatives.

runsmidgeOMG · 26/09/2018 23:45

DD 2 (3 in Feb)
Budget about £200 but I buy through the year to spread cost.

Masha and the bear play sets
Doctor kit
Little age appropriate laptop (the singing on with buttons etc)
Magnet shapes
Books (hello world from amazon by Jillian McDonald ) - will go in stocking with a bit of chocolate/ colouring books (thanks for idea PP!)
Playdough bits
Walking talking bing bunny

We're also thinking about a small slide but will see :)

PaulMorel · 27/09/2018 09:04

I'm planning to buy a trackimo GPS tracker for my kids, just so that I can monitor them and keep them safe. I'm also thinking on buying a scooter. Any recommendations?

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 27/09/2018 09:47

Around £100 to £150 per child due to their age/the sheer number of other people who buy them stuff and the amount of toys already in the house.

Ds (turns 4 in Feb) is getting:
A lot of wooden food for the play kitchen
a couple more Holztiger animals
a wooden breakfast set I picked up in a sale
2 jigsaws
books
snakes & ladders because he's just getting into board games
a big playmobil set (probably the tree house) and some blind bags/small sets

Dd (six months by Christmas) is getting:
A Grimms rainbow (6 piece) and gnome house
Some Holztiger animals
Princess Polly's Carriage (www.indigojamm.com/products/princess-pollys-carriage) which I suspect ds will also like playing with as he's horse obsessed.
Books

GoldenHoops · 27/09/2018 15:23

No budget in particular for ds1 , £75-£100 for the twins, £50 for ds4 &ds5. That doesn't include their stockings and Advent calenders. However Ds3 has dropped massive hints (he never asks for anything) about a Lego car (£300ish) and according to ds4 (he's 6) everyone but him has a Nintendo Switch
