Hi I am planning to get my dd a bike for xmas. I've been looking online and found lots of balance bikes. She'll be 3 in Feb. Which would be best?
Thanks

Balance bike. My dd still loves hers and she has had it for nearly 3 years

Probably a balance bike but it depends how tall she is really as it needs to be toes on the ground for easiest transistion to bike without stabilisers. If dd gets it super fast she'll be ready for a bike quickly so it might be worth looking at a good quality ( so it's light) 2nd hand one and saving the money towards a big bike.

Balance bike. We bought pedal bikes for ours but, watching how their friends progressed on balance bikes, regretted it!

Balance, all the way.

We got a Ridgeback Scoot balance bike for our then nearly 4 year old. They do two sizes, so you can get a smaller version. We got the larger because our DS was just turning 4. 6 weeks later he was on his Puky pedal bike like a pro.

The Puky learner bike is also excellent.

We're a family of cyclists and I've always been partial to Puky, Specialized, and Ridgebacks for our kids. All of them do balance bikes, so have a look.

We got our balance bike second-hand off eBay in excellent condition. No need to pay full price for a balance bike. They're not on them for long.

Balance bike....

Going against the grain, we are going for a pedal bike, ds aged 3 has a balance bike but he wants one with pedals.

Balance bike. One with a rear brake is a good halfway house.

Thank you I'll have a look round the shops :)

Balance! I got cheap ones from charity shops for mine which were in brilliant condition (would have been £100 New). Once they were zooming confidently on the balance bikes we swapped to peddle and they were riding properly within minutes. Great to see.

You can buy a nice light pedal bike, and just take the pedal off for a bit so they get into the balance bike idea, then put them back on to pedal 🙂
