I'm trying to be extra organised this year and have all shopping done by December, but have no clue what to get two DSs. They got a new PS4 earlier this year which would have been the main present so looking for suggestions. Thanks.

He pretty much has everything a 10 year old boy could ever need or want.

He'd like a wireless headset that's £100 and a new TV for his room. He also really wants a hamper with bits in it like his favourite drinks, snacks, magazines, socks etc after DH had one for his birthday.

I might get him new art stuff, a kindle voucher, a new strap for his guitar and some band t-shirts.

Mine is getting a go pro camera.

I'm struggling to come up with ideas for ds 11 and 9. How about a gaming chair? Customised controller? American candy hamper, dart board, tickets for something. I'm going to tell all family that buy for them to put money on a ps4 gift card. Then they can buy their own games online.

SheisMammyof2 · 24/08/2018 17:31

The PS4 gift card has already been requested. A gaming chair and headphones are good ideas. Keep em coming.

Ds is 9 and is getting Harry Potter Lego, Harry Potter Lego PS4 game, pretty much anything Harry Potter 😂, a tool kit, penknife, clothes... not sure what else...

He’s getting a MacBook but that’ll be off us not Santa.

Alanamackree · 25/08/2018 06:13

I think Sharp-cornered plastic booby traps to scatter around his bedroom floor lego will feature highly on our Christmas lists.

ProfessorMoody · 25/08/2018 09:36

My DS LOVES his custom controller. It has his name engraved on it and he chose the colours.

mummyof2boys30 · 25/08/2018 15:48

My 2 Ds 9 and 6 are looking ps4 games. We r gonna get gaming chair and stunt scooter.

Tiggles · 26/08/2018 00:37

My nearly 10 yr old ds loves Harry Potter and writing stories so will probably get him Harry Potter version of scrabble.

NualaCassia · 26/08/2018 09:16

My 9 year old is desperate for a decent telescope so he’ll be getting that.

A compass, a pocket knife, a knot making kit, (he’s in Scouts)

More LEGO (Minecraft) and more books

No requests for PS4 games this year which is a bit of a surprise.

I have a 9 (10 at christmas) year old dd. She is getting some games for her 2ds - i recommend them if they don't have one. Or if you have a higher budget the Nintendo switch is great as a portable console or multiplayer on screen. Super smash bros is coming out this year which looks amazing (dh has a switch and plays with my dds) she also likes playing legend of Zelda, dragonball and Mario kart.

Are they into any particular fandom? If so could get merchandise relating to that. Lots if gaming, different tv show/film t-shirts, books, figures around. QWERTEE, emp, truffle shuffle, game, Amazon and eBay are all good places to start looking.

Would they like a subscription box like Japanese sweets, loot crate, geek box. Or subscription dd1 loved her beano subscription- we wrapped the annual then a note. Nice gift that keeps going.

Movie hamper- popcorn box, popcorn maker, new film, favourite sweets/chocolates and soft drink. Could also wrap a fleece blanket - Primark/asda/Matalan are great quality and v reasonable.

New backpacks/pencil case. Maybe more expensive than a basic one you would buy. Hype is popular amongst dds friends (boys and girls).

Graphic novels- dd likes adventure time, the Simpsons, phonix comics. I've also bought her a how to draw comics book this year.

Sharpies and adult colouring books - she has Harry potter, animal and Pokemon ones.

I'm looking at the Lego movie maker to go with her tablet. It's around £12 on Amazon, will give her something to do other than roblox and watching slime videos.

Books - there's a new wimpy kid, dork diaries, captain underpants, Dogman which she loves so I've pre ordered those. She also enjoys her kindle which could be an option for your boys if they like reading (not the fire but an actual kindle. She has a fire tablet too) or the book people do great sets of books for reasons prices.

DS10 has so far requested a headset for his PS4, the Jurassic World game & new football boots

duckling84 · 26/08/2018 15:05

Ds9 (10 in feb) will get a lego set, a new ps4 controller and ps4 lego incredibles game. Plus various geeky/gaming tees etc

PlayingForKittens · 26/08/2018 15:08

My dd will be 10 in December. So far all she wants in is the Harry potter quidditch match Lego.

Wanttomakemincepies · 26/08/2018 16:58

Nintendo switch here. DS will be nearly 9. He also wants mario monopoly and Harry Potter cluedo. Have already vetoed Segway and puppy. No doubt more requests will start coming soon. I need to be organised this year as #2 due December. Watching for ideas.

SheisMammyof2 · 26/08/2018 18:30

Lots of great ideas here, thanks everyone.
