Im just wondering if anyone has bought one of these watches for their child? www.amazon.co.uk/Techsixtyfour-Gator-Wearable-Mobile-Tracker/dp/B01LZEHXSW/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?psc=1&keywords=gator+watch+for+kids&tag=mumsnetforum-21&ie=UTF8&qid=1534532108&sr=8-1-spons
Are they worth it? Is it buying for an 11 year old? We don’t want her to have a mobile phone yet.

I'm not seen one before, but it looks like a good alternative to a phone. Thanks for the tip!

Lost, in theory they look like a good idea and I am struggling to think of a present for Christmas that isn’t a mobile phone or I pad so was wondering if this would be an option. My dd is wanting to be more independent but still can be anxious so I thought it might work.

I was hoping someone had come along who had bought one! I've been thinking about these too, to give Ds a bit more freedom especially while we're camping and for peace of mind in busy places when he darts off to look at something.

Last year I thought perhaps I'd be getting him a present for my convenience, rather than something he really wanted, but he was really excited when we spoke about it. He didn't end up getting one last year but it's under consideration again. It would mean I could bump some toy and gift requests to GPs etc and hopefully cut down on the tidal wave of bits and pieces that threatens to engulf us. Please no random tiny sets of Meccano type stuff that is not Meccano!

Yes King, I was thinking along similar lines. I might repost the question nearer to Christmas to see if I get any replies.

My friend bought one for her autistic DS. He's 8 and was desperate to go to the park at the end of the street. They love it. She said it was worth every penny

WooYa - thanks so much. Glad to hear it was worth it! Perfect 😀
