Christmas ideas for 2 yo?

DS2 will be 2 at Christmas. Being DS2 he has lots of hand me down from DS1.

I have no real ideas other than (more) Duplo. What are your very top ideas for a 2 year old?

When DD was 2, we got her a dolls house and some furniture, a new jigsaw and some child-sized garden tools. All went down well.

Do you have a kitchen for them?

Do they like trucks and stuff - would a Tonka truck be suitable? Or a train set (Brio)?

Or something to add to an existing toy or group of toys - so a couple of new dinkie cars, or a new tractor, piece of machinery or some animals for a farm set - that kind of thing?

Playdoh set? Or just fresh pots of playdoh if you have existing tools.

Mine loved their pop up tent at this age and play tunnel at this age. They pack away beautifully but have a big impact.

We also got great mileage from this water toy that we got in elc. The picture is off Pinterest so I don’t know if they still sell that exact one. But any kind of water toy is fantastic at that age. Bath crayons were a great hit too (just hide the red one as it stains)

We bought DS items from the V-Tech Toot Toot Drivers range for his 2nd christmas (& birthday & the next Christmas). He's 6 now & still enjoys playing with them from time to time DD (16 months) thinks they're great too.
I think the favourite is the train station / tracks, probably because it has a motorised train.
This one wasn't around when DS was little but it looks fun!

Or how about something from the Playmobil 1,2,3 range - especially for younger children and no small parts.

A work bench. We have this one but there are branded ones like Black and Decker or Bosch www.argos.co.uk/product/6858847 www.argos.co.uk/product/686610
Kid k'nex is the Duplo equivalent of the K'nex world! www.argos.co.uk/product/6866107
Qboidz is another construction toy that I recommend. Just like Kid K'nex, there are lots of different sets.
My dc also loved Gear Gears Gears sets and Zoobs
Build a bear!

Our second son is just coming three and has loved Schleich animals over the past year. We also bought him a tepee which has been very popular. Most of the time, though, he just wants what his brother has!

If there are already cars in the house, what about a rug with streets printed onto it?

We put together money from all our ds one Christmas to buy a big climbing frame for the garden. As we had 3 ds they had so many toys it was good to get something practical.

DS was 2.9 last Christmas, and loved this toy post office set. It drops to about £12 every so often, that's when I bought it. He uses it as a shop as well.

And it folds right down, so is ideal.

I second Schleich animals. I'm having fun collecting Schleich horses and farm animals for our granddaughter who will be 2 1/2 at christmas. We've bought Melissa and Doug horse play rug and the matching carry along stable and fold and go barn to put away for christmas but felt animals a let down (not that 2year old will notice). We've also bought Melissa and Doug car play rug and take along garage for her.

I think DS2 got lots of Disney Cars stuff. What's the latest Disney movie?
