Oxford Christmas market...or other

Has anyone been?

We went to Bath last year and found it a bit too spread out throughout the city.

It'll be our only night away from the children so are looking for somewhere about 2.5 hours max from Kent which will feel Christmassy and has nice places to say/food/things to see...

Lived here for ages and never been compelled to go. My feeling is that it's a bit meh but I'll ask around. The market is normally close to Oxford Castle and the Malmaison Hotel, which is quite nice. And there are lovely shops old and new really close, cosy traditional pubs etc.

Winchester Christmas Market is really lovely.

We always used to go to the one in Birmingham, I'd recommend taking leave and going on a weekday though
