It's still exciting Fluffy Grin !

NoWordForFluffy · 13/07/2018 22:31

That is true! Xmas Grin

Shufflebumnessie · 14/07/2018 12:06

The Organised Mum also has a Christmas organiser/planner. I believe she launches it in August or September and I've heard so many people rave about it. I've not tried it myself but I'm going to this year. Off to have a look at the one mentioned on this thread too - sounds fab!

BiddyPop · 18/07/2018 10:47

It wasn't up last week, and I didn't check the HHP site for that plan, but the HGP has it's 2018 calender online now!!

I've just printed mine, as I like to get my lists done in the quiet weeks at work over summer, and be ready to hit the ground running come September. (And even more importantly this year as we only get home from BIG holidays on Sunday 26th, and DD starts secondary school on Tuesday 28th Aug, so Front Porch week will be chaos!!)

NoWordForFluffy · 18/07/2018 11:03

Front porch week? Mine is 2x2 feet, not sure it warrants a week!

BiddyPop · 18/07/2018 11:12

Fluffy, I look on front porch week as "clearing up garden at the end of summer" week. My "front porch" is the sheltered area under an overhang but without any doors/windows, and would take 30 seconds to sweep away spiders and dust....
But things like cleaning outside windows, washing garden furniture before storing, sweeping up patio from (1st batch of ) leaves, clearing out veg beds of dead plants etc are all useful and relevant (ish) jobs, in my mind at least.

NoWordForFluffy · 18/07/2018 11:43

That's a good idea! 😁

lostlalaloopsy · 22/07/2018 10:30

bandthenjust Christmas crackhead 🤣🤣🤣

I definitely doing this, we have been building an extension for over a year and it's almost complete. However the rest of the house is now a complete shit tip!!

PinstripeElephant · 22/07/2018 13:01

I'm so excited Grin it's nearly August!

Lost I** can certainly relate to the house being a shit tip! It just feels impossible to keep on top of housework when there's any sort of building work.

I'm tying to get on top of it this weekend, DH has actually offered to go through some of his unwanted things to free up space so I'm taking advantage. We've already agreed to host a few Christmas parties even if we've moved house so I'm really going to need this thread for support!

PinstripeElephant · 22/07/2018 13:02

Oh. And I only have six presents left to buy Blush

RuggerHug · 23/07/2018 12:46

Pinstripe 😱 I'm in awe...I thought I was doing well at 40% and 80% of pre December birthdays sorted.

PinstripeElephant · 23/07/2018 12:51

Rugger I'm in awe too! I have no idea how it's happened Shock I'm seriously under budget too! I keep checking my stash in confusion.

They aren't awkward to buy for people either. Just DH, MIL, FIL, DM, DF, and DGD.

Waiting for a few bits to arrive for DS's birthday. But he's basically done too.

lostlalaloopsy · 28/07/2018 13:09

Pinstripe another one in awe!! I have just recently started doing some present lists and thought I was doing well!!!

AmazingGrace16 · 29/07/2018 13:08

Jumping in :)
We're currently having an extension which is due to finish in a couple of weeks so then I'll have a gorgeous new kitchen, fridge freezer and cheat freezer to fill and organise ready for Christmas :) sounds like I need the planner!!!

BiddyPop · 02/08/2018 14:42

I've managed to get a few jobs done ahead of schedule, so I can tick those off already.

My gift buying though is not doing well this year. I need to have a think about what is best to do . Especially as I've been so busy that I more or less missed the sales......

TheWoollybacksWife · 02/08/2018 15:26

I've only bought one gift for DD1 so far - but I have three more in mind and one for DS so in my head I'm reasonably organised. DD2 is a bit of a mystery though.

I moved house at Easter and apart from dusting and hoovering the house is sorted. All paperwork is streamlined and everywhere is painted and decorated.

The garden will need tidying at the end of the summer and the BBQ putting away.

I'm planning on making some Christmas decorations but to be honest I'm waiting for cooler weather before I do anything serious.

I do have a smaller freezer in the kitchen than I had in my old house but I have got a small chest freezer in the garage so once all the burgers and sausages are gone I'll be thinking about things like stuffing and sausage rolls and other food I can make ahead.
