Rudolph Day Xmas Grin

Mine are 18 and nearky 16 so they lardy about in bed while DH and I were up early (I got up 7.15 , he was up earlier)
The guinea-pigs are still indoors , it is still way too cold for them to go out to their Pighouse , and next week looks worse. So they chorused at 6am for brekkie bu of course only a frequency that MY ears picked up.
DD looked after them while I was away but my guinea-pig rewarded her handsomly with presents .

DD and I went up Larndan yesterday, blardy cold. Bought a Big Issue from my favourite seller (I do each time I go up)

Big Sunday Lunch in the offing now.
And back to The Grind tomorrow !

Love the GingerBread Men (DS used to call them Gingerbread Mans when he was little so of course that's our go-to name Xmas Grin )

Fingers crossed Fridge - I had 2 consequitive OutPatient apppointments cancelled by the local hospital and when I phoned to rebook there was another 6 months to wait Xmas Hmm but its a follow up not a Do Something Appointment so Ho Hum.
Stave Off The Snow , I say , I have a busy week this week, I cannot be waylaid by the White Stuff.

Looking at the calender..................10 months till Christmas Day > Result!

Ilovelearning · 25/02/2018 23:32

Catching up with everyone, the Rudolph biscuits look great. I can't remember the last time I baked. I'm in my 2nd year of a Textile Degree at the University of Huddersfield. I've got my major hand-ins coming up on the 2nd and 19th March, so working non-stop. Whoever says students have it easy aren't doing my course! I've just spent the last 10 hours embroidering and did the same yesterday. Mrsmadevans, what is your dd studying?

NoWordForFluffy · 26/02/2018 06:49

302

Ooh, that's a really well respected degree at that uni, Ilove! I'd love to be creative and do something like that (it would come in handy for bloody World Book Day this week!).

We apparently have snow showers forecast tomorrow. The joys! As long as it's not like the snowmageddon of 2010, that's fine!

I'm on the train to work. Busy day; new files, online training, trip to Court (not even my file; slightly very irritating), then my actual diary for today. Sigh.

WreckTangled · 26/02/2018 07:25

I'm hoping we get snow Thursday night as I have no work Friday and the dc won't be able to get to school. We live down back roads which don't get gritted and are very windy.

TheWoollybacksWife · 26/02/2018 07:34

We are under an amber warning for snow for tomorrow although I've thoroughly bamboozled myself looking at about 6 different weather forecasting sites who all say differing amounts from a couple of centimetres to Snowmaggedon. I just wish it would get on with it and then I can find out whether I need to alter DS' trousers on his suit for World Book Day or not Grin

Mrsmadevans · 26/02/2018 08:51

Morning all!
Ilove that sounds like heaven for a degree my dear Good luck with the deadline!
DD1 is doing midwifery in Manc uni. Half way through her second year another 18 months to go ! I can't wait for her to finish and come home neither can she. Manc is a fabulous place and the people are lovely to her, she really likes the culture and the city so it is not as bad because she could really hate it and that would be so much worse.
Fluffy Good girl doing the overtime, I think you are brilliant picking up someone else work and going to court , it must be really stressful for you .
Wreck am praying you get snow too, there is nothing like a snow day at home with the kids , it is what memories are made of. Fingers crossed !
Woolly alter the trews, they will reschedule World book day if they are anything like my dds school lol,
Am off to Cwmbran to have a shopio , take some flowers to elderly friends and have a catch up with them.
Have a great day everyone ! Take care all.

NoWordForFluffy · 26/02/2018 10:23

Apparently I wouldn't have had to come to Court if my manager had known I was coming. I assumed the person whose file it was would've told her. Ultimate fail as I really am too busy to be here!

SallyLockhartsDog · 26/02/2018 12:23

Ooh no Fluffy that is so frustrating Envy

Will keep my fingers crossed for snow on FridayWoolly&Wreck. What is he going dressed as Woolly? We had icicles here this morning Grin

Mrs is there a hospital close to you where DD will work once she is finished?

Mrsmadevans · 26/02/2018 17:26

Sally there is one just over the road literally! I so hope she manages to find a job there . She has just done a SCBU placement and loved it so she may do a course after she finishes to train in the care of these babies. Apparently you can do a course if you are a midwife that uses your skills to transfer to special baby care. I know nothing about it though , l may have got it all wrong lol and she has a long way to go yet so we will see... fingers crossed.
Fluffy , dagnabit that is just awful , l hope you treated yourself to a lovely coffee and a sticky bun you deserve it .
Had a good day ,saw the elderly friends who were all very well thankfully. Poor NDN's DD2 said to him that she wasn't coming to see him again it was her sisters turn. How hurtful is that like he is a damn nuisance poor thing. I told him to keep the heating on tonight because it is going to be minus 3 .
Wrap up warm everyone.... here comes the snow lol !

NoWordForFluffy · 26/02/2018 17:30

It went from bad to worse at Court! 🙈😫

Never mind; not my fault!

The sky is so clear here. Gonna be another cold one! Xx

Mrsmadevans · 26/02/2018 17:48

Nevermind Fluffy, soon be home and have snuggles from your DH and DC, nice cuppa, a sit down and hot bath to recover . It is going to be a freezing one tonight for sure!! BRRRRRR

Mrsmadevans · 26/02/2018 17:49

Have put loads of food out for the birds, bless them they don't know whether they are coming or going in this weather!

TheWoollybacksWife · 26/02/2018 17:50

MrsMad I'll follow your advice and sort his trousers out tonight. He's going as James Bond. He's been reading the Alex Rider books (boy spy) and fancied something along those lines for his costume. I bought him a tux from eBay that he can wear on our cruise later in the year - assuming he doesn't put the knees out playing football on Thursday Grin

Mrsmadevans · 26/02/2018 18:12

May as well get it done Woolly , love the sound of his tux and trousers and him reading the spy novels too! He will look very handsome l am sure. On another matter completely different..... pray tell where are you going on a cruise Woolly.....cruise must be a lovely relaxing holiday Envy Xmas Grin

OP posts:
TheWoollybacksWife · 26/02/2018 18:28

We are doing Gibraltar, Spain and Portugal MrsMad. It is a fantastic way to holiday - my DH describes it as a hotel that takes you from place to place.

That sounds frightfully extravagant written down. Blush

SallyDog · 26/02/2018 18:37

Ooooh I have always fancied a cruise. One day I would like to do the Queen Mary 2 to NYC....

That would be fab Mrs, my friend works in SCBU and finds it tough but very very rewarding!

Mrsmadevans · 26/02/2018 18:59

Woolly it sounds just wonderful so relaxing , l would love to go on one or even a holiday but can't leave the elderly parents .
Queen Mary 2 to NY oh heavenly Sally ! Yes. l agree very hard work but such a rewarding career , l want her to feel good about her job and that she gets back more than she gives iyswim.

BBTHREE76 · 26/02/2018 21:40

Hey all - not posted for a while. I have changed jobs and went straight from finishing one to starting the other so no rest 😬. Still doing OK christmaswise and after an initial mad flurry in the Jan sales, I am buying roughly 1 pressie a week as and when I spot something. I have £300 coming in vouchers in October. £100 of that is a Primarni voucher which DH thinks is madness, but we all get new PJs for Xmas eve and by the time I have got some new socks, slippers, and Dd some make up bits for her hamper, it costs me more than that every year, so it’s worth me budgeting for it this time round. Xx

Mrsmadevans · 26/02/2018 22:41

Hi BB good to hear you are doing so well my dear, congratulations on the new job Brilliant! I wish l could be as good as you in the present buying dept lol! Xmas Envy Xmas Grin Well done!

NoWordForFluffy · 27/02/2018 06:43

Isn't it 301 today?! Did we lose count already (no surprise if I'm doing it, it seems!)?!

Snow here today! It wasn't forecast to be this bad, so I'm a bit Xmas Hmm about it!

The kids are apparently really excited though, so that's something! Xmas Grin
