Morning! DS2's on WiFi in our room, I'm in bed drinking coffee. 😋Brew

I hope everyone feels better soon. It's rubbish being in pain. 😢

Osopolar, do you mean actually staying there for Christmas? I've never been (at any time) but I'm not sure I'd want to be away from home actually for Christmas now we have kids. The amount of stuff we'd have to transport would be unreal! Xmas Shock

Damp start here today. Hopefully it'll blow over soon enough though.

Handbag, I wouldn't say my fingers are overly green. It's all a bit hit and miss in reality! We only really do it for the kids as it's good for them to see where food comes from.

NoWordForFluffy · 10/04/2018 07:35

Perfectly, do you have very short range WiFi, or is it that you have DS in your room to monitor his usage?

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 10/04/2018 08:01

We don't have WiFi, BT have very kindly installed a big silver thing outside Domino's 2 doors up, which is a tablet cum phone thing, and also transmits a WiFi signal. We live in a basement flat, so maybe that's why the DC have to sit in our window (our bedroom's at the front of the house), to get a connection. I can only get 4G in our bedroom too.

WreckTangled · 10/04/2018 08:02

Cloudy here. Bleurgh. Might go and see a friend, have loads of washing to do.

Osopolar · 10/04/2018 08:15

Yes for Christmas itself fluffy. We only have the one DS so I don't think we would have to take too much more than usual. He is also keen on the hunters lodges at the Celtic Manor for Christmas. That would be a lot closer to home!

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 10/04/2018 08:56

We've just had chocolate pancakes. 😋🍫

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 10/04/2018 08:58

My best Christmas was California! Easter Grin

TheWoollybacksWife · 10/04/2018 09:07

I've been to CP for Christmas Osopolar. It was great. DS was only little - I think it was the Christmas just before he was 4.

We did a visit to Santa on Christmas Eve, I cooked dinner in the lodge on Christmas Day and we went to the pantomime on Boxing Day. Dinner was definitely doable despite fewer facilities than at home. I cooked the ham the day before and we had microwave bags of veg. Take disposable roasting trays and a couple of extra tea towels. And a carving knife and a sharp knife for peeling potatoes and you'll cope.

Still waiting for BT - burning through data so over and out for now Grin

Morning all, Fluffy tagged me in a post this morning and I realised I hadn't been on the Christmas board in ages! Work and life just too manic these days.

The only Christmassy thing I'm doing these days is knitting scarves. And have agreed with DH that we will be staying at home this year for Christmas itself, not travelling to family until later in the holidays. (So I expect that means DD and I will do the Christmas Eve swim again to get the season started!! It was kinda fun last year in the sailing club!Xmas Grin).

I hope ye are all doing ok too. I hope to get to catch up a bit in a few weeks, once a Scout competition is over, DD's confirmation is successfully overcome, and May should see a few things quietening down on the home front. My last travel for work, I hope, is tomorrow - nothing on the horizon for me at least until possibly late June - although DH is still racking up the airmiles.

WreckTangled · 10/04/2018 10:02

I haven't done any Christmas shopping, I don't usually start until July onwards. This year's mission is to actually have some money saved for Christmas Blush so far I have £100 but I think I might end up using that tomorrow as I've promised the dc we will go to London.

FridgeCut · 10/04/2018 14:57

We've been to CP on the run up to Christmas, they has done lots and FC was very good.

We have booked to stay in the middle of Kielder for October HT, very excited about that! After this Christmas with so much illness I am too scared to book going away then!

Mrsmadevans · 10/04/2018 16:32

Afternoon all.
Been out to Hereford Cathedral again today to see the weeping window as the weather was so dire. Raining and so cold today, grim and misty but the Cathedral and poppies are just beautiful .
Not going away this year as mum has been poorly and needs a lot of help, also Dad is not so good.
NDN wife has died bless her , he is still in Hospital and can't walk or pu atm so he will be in for a while. Perhaps it is just as well he is in hospital to get him over the first couple of weeks after her death. It is all so very sad...
Anyway ....hope all the DC & Wreck & Fridge are getting better and taking care
am off for a cuppa tea l am frozen here!

No WiFi, Perfectly?! 😱😱😱 Our two would be bereft without it! So would I, to be honest!

I've fared a bit better than you for savings, Wreck, but have £200 less than I'd wanted by now. I've got a load of cash back due during the year though, so that will top it up. My plan is also to buy less this year as it was all a bit much last year!

Waiting for internet is dire, Woolly. I hope you're connected soon!

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 10/04/2018 17:28

I know! Thank goodness for BT and free WiFi, even if we do have to sit in the window like an ornament to get it! Easter Grin

Osopolar · 10/04/2018 19:09

The only thing I am on track with this year are savings so that's something at least. Won't be as expensive this year as we aren't hosting :)

NoWordForFluffy · 10/04/2018 20:46

I do have £175 in Nectar points, so might use the double up on toys this year!

We tend to have the in laws round, but I do a buffet instead of dinner, and they contribute to it as well!

Morning! In bed, drinking coffee. The DC are at my aunt's until Friday. Have put a wash on. Trying laundry pearls, hopefully DS2's Bear will smell lovely! 😋BrewEaster Grin🌷🌸🌹🌻🌼

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 11/04/2018 07:02

I always use Nectar points to buy an extra present for each of us, also drinks for myself and DC, and a tub of Roses or Quality Streets. DH uses his for the meat and a bottle of tawny port. Easter Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 11/04/2018 07:07

I prefer minimal washing liquid etc scent on my clothes. I find those pearls are rather overpowering! (Strong scents have always triggered sickness and headaches, and it was a real struggle while pregnant 🤢🤢🤢)

Hurrah for Wednesday! I've done really well at catching up from holiday. Hopefully I'll be completely on track by the end of the week.

We took delivery of our bare root fruit trees last night, so the evening was spent putting our tomatoes in the grow bags and planting the trees. The garden is stuffed with plants, bushes and trees now! 😁

WreckTangled · 11/04/2018 07:09

I'm the opposite fluffy, when I was pregnant I made dh smell all the shampoos in the supermarket Grin

We're going to London today, will be lots of walking so I'll take painkillers with me.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 11/04/2018 07:21

Good idea Wreck. Are you going anywhere specific?

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 11/04/2018 07:31

Off to Sainsbury's for breakfast. 😋🍳

WreckTangled · 11/04/2018 07:33

We're going to the transport museum and then to the Harry Potter primark shop Grin will also visit a crepe place as we don't have anything like that round here. Oh and we will go on a bus because we don't have buses either 😂

NoWordForFluffy · 11/04/2018 07:37

That's so funny, Wreck! I was a nightmare, especially with DD as I was generally throwing up about 5-10 times a day. It didn't take much to tip me over the edge.

I wasn't as bad with DS, but then I wasn't as sicky with him, thank god!

Enjoy your day in London. It's a bit of a trek for us to get down there, so I'll wait til the kids are a touch older and will appreciate it slightly more!
