Fluffy you hit the nail on the head when you said 'It takes a special kind of person to be a good midwife' . My DD says that a good midwife is the difference between a safe delivery and a tragedy waiting to happen. She loves the work but she does feel disillusioned sometimes when she has a bad placement or mentor. There is still a bullying/hierarchy culture in the NHS l am afraid and l feel very sorry for her sometimes. I tell her it is good for her to have these experiences to enable her to develop coping strategies to deal with it but in my heart of hearts it does upset me for her. She has to get through this though and then l am hoping when she is qualified it will be a different ball game for her. I think it will be , I know she has to go through this and come out the other side to mature and be able to safely practice . God l have gone on lol take no notice of me

Early wake up from DS who needed a wee...thank god we had an early night last night! Small children are exhausting. 💤

We've agreed to go to the park this morning; we must be mad! We will go first thing before it gets busy though.

Morning! DS2's in our room for WiFi, I'm in bed drinking coffee. 😋

We had a sprinkling last night, but no more since, and some of last night's has gone too. There's a few flakes blowing round, but that's the extent of it really.

I do a roast every Sunday. My favourite dinner of the week!

I go through phases of doing roasts every weekend then stop for a while. Definitely roast weather today!

It really is! The kids seem to have forgotten the playground idea for now. Thank god!!

Morning all . We have a lot of snow here again. About 3-4 inches woke up this morning with it . I do love the snow but even l have had enough of it now lol.
DD1 could not get to Placement last night because of the snow in Salford, no buses were running and she couldn't get a taxi to take her so she couldn't go . Thankfully they were very understanding about it . So long as she is ok then that is all l care about. Hopefully she will be able to book a taxi to take her tonight if she needs to .

Had maple pancakes with maple syrup and chocolate pancakes. 😋🍫

For the curry / naan bread? I do, but the curry is made with pre-mixed spices (though these only cost £8 from the Spicery's website).

I'll grab the recipe when I'm next in the kitchen. 😁

We had pineapple upside down cake for pudding, was delicious. Wish the snow would go away, I want it to be warm and spring like before I am on crutches and stuck inside!

I can make excellent gravy, Jamie Oliver make ahead stuff is astounding and you can freeze it in portions after making a job lot. My bastard family PREFER bisto.

Mmm the Jamie Oliver rustic gravy is delicious

I just do flour and stock cube into the fat / juices and add water.
