Pointless wondering about chocolate tree decorations

Just as the title says really, i've just found the chocolate tree decorations I'd put away "safe" and am wondering why they come with loose string? As I've missed the boat this year I'm not going to bother faffing about tying them but it's a nuisance. Anyone know why? Yes I'm bored

I was wondering the same a few weeks ago as I spent about an hour tying them all to hooks. Such a nuisance! Must come up with a solution for next year. Maybe wax.

Is it so you can tie them rather than trying to push them over the pine needles (and risk lancing yourself or having them all pinging off? )

When my DC were little I hung the chocolate shapes on the bannister swag. DS perfected the art of undoing the foil and removing the chocolate leaving the empty wrapper hanging.

I heard him telling DD that "If you undo it you can take the chocolate out and eat it. And if you leave the wrapper there she'll never know ....."

Yes she does know DS Xmas Wink
