Dinner? Late lunch? I know it varies.

We had bacon butties at 11am, then main meal will be at 4pm. So a late lunch. Not a time we normally eat, but it's christmas. and at 4pm it will be dark, so candles will have impact. The rest of the evening will be spent on the sofa/call the midwife/chocolates etc.

Planning on eating at 5 pm. Our usual Sunday dinner time so DD can eat with us and we can tidy up and chill out for the rest of the night (while eating after eights and drinking baileys)

PinkHeart5914 · 25/12/2017 14:29

Late breakfast of smoked salmon & cream cheese bagels about 12.

Plenty of champagne, wine, chocolate, biscuits etc around if people want

DH is cooking dinner for 6pm

Great, glad it'snot just me that finds a 4pm huge meal freaky.

Lunch done and dusted by 130!

Now watching singing in the rain.

DramaAlpaca · 25/12/2017 14:33

We're planning on eating at around 5, or whenever everything is ready.

Kraggle · 25/12/2017 14:33

We sat down to ours for half 12 as we like to have a nice tea on Christmas Day so need a good amount of time between! No pudding has been eaten yet though, we’re still too full!

FranksBobot · 25/12/2017 14:34

We ate at 12, I've just woke up from a mini post dinner nap

speakout · 25/12/2017 14:35

It's lovely to hear of other people's christmas days.

We always have ours at 1pm this year Dh wanted to do it at 3.30 but he's aiming for 3 as we're all hungry now.

TheWoollybacksWife · 25/12/2017 14:38

I'm aiming for 5pm. The perfect time in between it late enough to be dark so we can eat by candlelight and early enough so we don't miss the start of Dr. Who Xmas Grin

LineyRunner · 25/12/2017 14:48

Just me and DS (home from university). We're going to watch Dr Who together and then eat a bit after that, so maybe 6.45/7?

TheWoollybacksWife · 25/12/2017 14:51

Eek. Just seen that Dr. Who is on at 5:30. I may need to put the TV on pause.

FurryDogMother · 25/12/2017 14:54

We're waiting for Dad's carers to come around 3.30 - 4.30 to move him from bed to chair, and then we'll be eating the main course. Then we'll wait for the final carer visit of the day around 7 pm, when they put him back to bed, and he can have his pudding in comfort :) Port and Stilton after that, and then probably an early night thanks to all the booze!

GrumpyOldMare · 25/12/2017 14:58

Lunch eaten, dishes washed and kitchen tidy. Now to collapse till we find the energy to go for a walk. Then turkey sandwiches and chocolate log later

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/12/2017 15:00

Doctor Who being on early has caused some timing issues!
4:30 ish for our main course, then pudding after Doctor Who.

BeyondAssignation · 25/12/2017 15:00

We had ours at about 1, any later and we'd starve - very early breakfast due to very early rising DCs.

DH and ds2 are now dozing while ds1 watches crap and I piss about on the Internet Xmas Smile

gingercat02 · 25/12/2017 15:03

Aiming for 3:30. Looking good so far. Smells devine

Efnisien · 25/12/2017 15:16

Had ours at 12 so we can wash up/clear up and eat more this afternoon Grin

Pancakeflipper · 25/12/2017 15:21

2pm for us. No reason why. Just finished.. but not had pudding - we will have that in another hour.
Only the 4 of us today (I repeat the fun tomorrow for 10 people) and really enjoying a chilled out Xmas Day. Eldest is still in his PJ's but he threw a checked shirt on when I said he wasn't sitting down to lunch in PJ's.

Cat is so stoned from new catnip toy he's not woken up to investigate the turkey smell.

Lovemusic33 · 25/12/2017 15:23

We ate at 1.30, all washed up and now relaxing before visiting family.

Frouby · 25/12/2017 15:25

Starters for 4pm, dinner for 4.45pmish, pudding when we can move again.

We also had bacon butties at 11am. Am getting hungry again now and can't wait!

It's only us 4 for Christmas day and after years of hosting and being stressed I absolutely love it. I wouldn't see anyone close alone on Christmas day but for noe everyone has company so I am making the most of it. Doing our own thing Christmas day was an unexpected bonus of dp being seriously ill about 7 years ago and we broke the habit of hosting then. And ds is a December baby 4 years ago which cemented the 'we will do our own thing thanks'. Absolutely love it!

justforthisnow · 25/12/2017 15:27

Eating around 4pm here...
I have guests and they are helping with prep, it's brilliant! I'm doing that again. In laws are watching movie, all cosy. Fires on.
Breakfast mind you was Roses (gone to the dogs that brand, never again) and mini Marks mince pies. Can't fault that!

UnreasonablyPissedOff · 25/12/2017 15:55

We had coffee and lebruchen at 9am
Full cooked breakfast with clementine bellinis at 12 noon
We will eat our dinner at 7pm

We always do things this way and we love it!

I love reading about how everyone does things differently but I just can't imagine eating my full christmas dinner at 12 noon!!!

mullmepopcorn · 25/12/2017 15:58

Breakfast at 9, lunch at 1, pudding when we can find room. Not yet. Maybe 7?

delilahbucket · 25/12/2017 15:59

Finished about half an hour ago. Had bacon butties at 9:30 ish. Kitchen tidied mostly and will have pudding in an hour or so.
