Thank you Father Christmas Grin this is the best Xmas present I could have asked for. I was truly expecting them to be waking me up by 5 or 6. They still have their stockings to open in bed too so I have even more time in bed. Even on a normal day at least one will be awake by now. Anyone else been treated to a teeny Christmas lie in?

Me too! They are 6 and 9, and usually awake by now anyway. I tol them on a longish walk yesterday afternoon and let them stay up to watch a film. I’m expecting to wake an minute now, which would be fine because I really need a wee!

Happy Christmas everyone

NearlyEaster · 25/12/2017 06:53

8am here - I’ve been the first to wake for years now!

LolitaLempicka · 25/12/2017 06:55

7pm is a bloody lovely lie in.

LookAtAllTheBullshit · 25/12/2017 06:55

Children are still in bed, cats have got me up instead as we are normally awake by now during the week so it is breakfast time for them.
I have a coffee and am watching some montage on BBC breakfast.

AlbusPercival · 25/12/2017 06:56

BillywilliamV · 25/12/2017 07:24

I have always woken first, I go and light the Christmas lights, feed the cats and bring a cup of tea and some chocolate back to bed. It’s one of my favourite moments of the entire yearXmas Wink

Olicity17 · 25/12/2017 07:25

Mine are still asleep. I have been up had 2 coffees, a shower, put make up on (simply because i was bored) and got dressed......and they are still asleep.

welshweasel · 25/12/2017 07:26

Almost 2 year old just woken up and now sat in our bed watching tractors on the kindle whilst we drink tea. He’s obviously completely oblivious to Christmas this year and I’m intending to make the most of it before the early starts begin!

WatchingFromTheWings · 25/12/2017 07:38

My older 2 DC (17 & 15) I had to wake up at 7am every single year! Youngest is 6 and woke on his own accord just after 6am this year. Had to wale him previous years!

Littlestchristmastree · 25/12/2017 07:41

7.42 and mine are still asleep. Don't know if I cam wait much longer!! I've been up ages!!

ivykaty44 · 25/12/2017 07:44

Dd was up at 4:15am

I wished her a merry Christmas as she came up the stairs to bed 😂 and fell into bed... she’s 19

Clankboing · 25/12/2017 07:46

You did mean 7am not 7pm didn't you OP? My children are older but got overly excited last night and couldn't sleep. I gave up and fell asleep, explaining that Santa would visit early morning. I set my alarm. Am up and about and everyone is still asleep at 7:45 am.

CiderwithBuda · 25/12/2017 07:52

It's just me and the dogs up here. I woke shortly after 6. Stayed in bed a bit on the iPad but then remembered I hadn't done DS's stocking. And figured I could have some peace for a bit on my own.

DS has promised to get up around 9. He is 16 so we are way past the early morning excitement here.

We have MIL staying so I'm enjoyed some peace before she starts chattering and asking questions and not listening to the answers. I love her and she is lovely but she never stops talking!

CiderwithBuda · 25/12/2017 07:52

Oh - Merry Christmas everyone. Hope you all have a lovely peaceful day.

Adelie0404 · 25/12/2017 07:58

one child up (9 yr DD) since 730, waiting for her sister so they can open stockings together (they in lounge by fire). It might be a long wait though... (teenager)
Cute she waits! She's playing Minecraft as usual!
This is a slow household in the morning always.....

ManicPixieDream · 25/12/2017 08:00

My 5 year old is still fast on. The teen has been up ages. So weird
..

XmasInTintagel · 25/12/2017 08:01

Mine are really big now, so thought I'd have a looong lie in, but just heard one of their alarms go off! Even tho they never wake early, they obviously wanted to make sure they were up for Xmas morning Grin

HappyAndRelaxed · 25/12/2017 08:02

DC and DH still asleep here. I'm up. I woke myself snoring smothered with a cold HmmBlush but I don't care BECAUSE IT'S CHRISSSSSSTMAS and I'm so excited!!! Happy Christmas everyone Xmas Grin

coconutnut · 25/12/2017 08:02

4:30 start from my 4 yr old SadConfused
Managed to coax her to stay in bed, she fell back to sleep at about 5:15, then we woke up with 8yr old at 7!

annandale · 25/12/2017 08:05

Lovely 14 yr old here still sparko but Dhabi woke me up pottering about and rearranging the table. I had a moment of crossness but then remembered it's Christmas and anyway it's lovely to be up all calm before the guests arrive. Velvety silence outside, looking at the tree lights. Happy Christmas.

Farfromtheusual · 25/12/2017 08:08

Opposite here too...DS is usually up between half 7 and 8 but was up at 5.45 this morning 😴😴😴

SouthWestmom · 25/12/2017 08:12

All four still asleep - thank you!
