For me it's Ferrero arsing Rocher to take to SIL's tomorrow. The ambassador will not be spoiling anyone this Christmas in the Cherry family. Asda had mountains of the stuff in yesterday, but I'd already done the shopping and couldn't be arsed going back to the tills. Not a single one there today, or in the Spar. Oh well, that'll learn me.

What did you not get for tomorrow, in the way of shopping/presents/food?

Couldn't find Dundee Cake for my dad.

But some of these things could be found in your corner shop... Ours is open a few hours tomorrow...

Knittedfairies · 24/12/2017 16:29

Non alcoholic drinks. So it'll be orange squash for non drivers

You sure? Xmas Wink

AdaColeman · 24/12/2017 16:29

A lemon!

How could you run out of Prosecco? Are you not plumbed in to the Prosecco Pipeline? Xmas Grin

MiltonTheChristmasCockroach · 24/12/2017 16:33

Rizla.

I'm hoping the petrol station is still open when I go out later.

Hoppinggreen · 24/12/2017 16:35

cherry no danger of that, I couldn’t get any

HidingFromTheWorld · 24/12/2017 16:35

We haven’t forgotten anything for our small family of three. But, teenage DD and I have been laid up since yesterday with gastroenteritis. We’re both feeling very unwell and have been in bed all day.

Poor DH is on his own downstairs with a glass of wine and a dog for company. We’ve deferred Christmas until we’re better as we won’t be sitting down to the roast meal for a few days.

Have a very Happy Christmas all!

BestIsWest · 24/12/2017 16:38

Nice chocolate. My own fault. DH bought mountains of Celebrations, Heroes, Quality Street, Maltesers etc, all of which are too sweet for me. Usually I rein him in and buy some nice truffles or dark chocolate as well. This year I just forgot.

Darkbendis · 24/12/2017 16:40

After 8 chocolates. But knowing how much chocolate stuff will be in our stockings, I am sure we'll manage.

dementedpixie · 24/12/2017 16:44

Not shut here either as Scotland has more relaxed Sunday trading hours

BattleaxeGalactica · 24/12/2017 16:46

Reduced turkey to bung in the freezer for Easter. Dh scored one for a tenner as the shop closed last year and he meant to do a last minute run today but didn't.

happymummy12345 · 24/12/2017 16:49

We have everything. Just finishing off the cleaning.

Biscuitsneeded · 24/12/2017 16:49

Enough cheese. In-laws are bringing but I'm worried there won't be enough...

loveka · 24/12/2017 16:50

I am driving up the M40 and discovered I have forgotten the homemade Christmas pudding!

So I had to get one in Waitrose. It wasn't even a Heston one, which I would have liked to try actually.

NataliaOsipova · 24/12/2017 16:51

Goose fat for the roast potatoes.
I've basically ruined my Christmas dinner

@BexleyRae I am famous (if I do say so myself Xmas Grin) for my roast potatoes and I won't touch goose fat. Olive oil. But very, very hot before you put the (boiled until almost okay to eat) potatoes into it.

HashiAsLarry · 24/12/2017 16:52

ada someone appears to have drunk the supply too low then DH used the last one as an emergency gift. I am not happy with myself them

Babababababybel23 · 24/12/2017 16:52

Something easy for tonight's tea. I can't be bothered cooking. And satsumas

FitBitFanClub · 24/12/2017 16:53

Well, dh remembered to get bread sauce but.... just checked and he's it a Colman's fucking sachet!!

How the fuck do we upgrade that to something edible?

ProudAunty2nine · 24/12/2017 16:57

Flavoured cheese as per this thread yesterday
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/Christmas/3120165-What-Cant-You-Find?pg=3
Just can't be arsed now and given up
Seems like maybe the shops have missed a few tricks this year, I know its hard to get stock right so no waste etc but honestly its ridiculous some of the things people can't get.

Saladtongs · 24/12/2017 16:58

Don't forget the small global food stores as they're usually open until late and some even open on Christmas day. Handy for those who live in ethnically diverse areas.

AdaColeman · 24/12/2017 16:58

Just make some bread sauce, you've probably got all the ingredients.

ticklady · 24/12/2017 17:01

Run out of mince pies!
Luckily we checked the bread sauce packet ( not posh here😉) and found it was a year out of date, so dh got some on his,way home. Didn't discover the mince pie tragedy til now☹

Puzzledandpissedoff · 24/12/2017 17:03

Brandy butter!!! I can't believe I forgot it, and rely on the stuff to spoon over my Christmas pud (with an extra slug of brandy Grin) while others are slathering on horrible, volcano hot sauce

Guess I'll just have to make it, but I've only got muscavado sugar in the "browns" and am worried it will be a mess ...

LazyDailyMailJournos · 24/12/2017 17:04

Tinfoil. But I think I have enough to manage until Boxing Day, so not necessarily a disaster.

Grimmfebruary · 24/12/2017 17:06

A present for dp’s weird friend who buys for us all... she’s done it for the past 2 Year, I don’t buy for adults that aren’t close family and always forget about her because why would you buy for someone who is an acquaintance?!

LazyDailyMailJournos · 24/12/2017 17:06

For those lacking bread sauce - If you have white bread (you can use brown if you want), cloves, bay leaves, an onion, cream, milk and butter, then you can make it. Delia's recipe works well and is my tried and tested standby (I adore bread sauce).
