We love them but.... let's share the things our DHs have done to make us grit our teeth this Christmas

So I've spent months choosing presents and weeks wrapping them. Under the tree are £100s of pressies bought, made, wrapped & ready to distribute to family this Christmas. That's fine - I love it! DH comes in today and asks if there is any wrapping paper left and grumbles when I say it's all covering the presents under the tree. ConfusedEnvySad

What have your beloved DHs done to make you grit your teeth and reach fir the gin this Christmas?

After painstakingly painting the panelling in our kitchen black gloss on Wednesday tea time, my dh let's our big white dog in......
I could have cried.
Instead I slammed the bedroom door and went to bed. Seething..

Probably me this year - DH bought his colleagues their Christmas presents to give out today and yesterday afternoon I snaffled one of them to give to someone I forgot to buy for Blush He promptly sent me out to replace with the exact same thing I took Grin

I asked my DH to strain the gravy. He did it over the sink and I watched in horror as my delicious gravy disappeared down the plughole and he was left with a strainer full of giblets. I burst into tears and had to use Bisto gravy granules on my beautiful dinner for eight!

DH has one task, to print off some pictures for a frame for his DM (my MIL). I've bought the frame, printed a majority of the photos (some were wrong size hence asking him to do it)... has he printed them yet? No he's told me today "we" will go to max speilmen tomorrow...

Jog on! You've had over a month!!!

DH is supposed to be retired but works a couple of days a week in local well known supermarket. He is a bloody squirrel and comes home with knock down bargains he can’t resist even if they are shit food. I have tamed him with threats but still find our fridge and freezer full of things I really don’t want gumming up the works for Christmas! I am going to insist he retires properly...is it too late to order a set of golf clubs?

Spent the morning talking at me when we synchronised our shopping list. I was not allowed to interrupt him. Even for a question relating to an item on the list. Also buying all our presents to people we will be seeing this weekend (Inc Christmas day) last week and now they're arriving expecting me to wrap them.

We had an argument about gift tags last night! BlushGrin

Not a grit your teeth moment but the husband mistook my scribble as a 2 so bought 2 of the same present and as it was a buy 2 get one free I now have 3 identical presents instead of one.

Not much of a hardship but I’ve been chucking all night over it. He’s adamant I wrote a 2 Grin

He used the Santa wrapping paper to wrap his parents present instead of the family wrapping paper. That kinda annoyed me but not massively as I was actually too impressed he'd wrapped it in the first place (dh does not like wrapping).
The occasional digs as yet another parcel turns up at the door, I swear if it was down to him the kids would only get bits from the "reduced to clear" isle in Tesco. I don't think he quite appreciates the time, money and organisation that goes into it.

Every time I ask him to do something he’s suddenly feeling ill 😜

OutnumberedByFurchesters · 22/12/2017 22:46

I asked him to write the christmas shop shopping list, and wrap the last few of DDs presents yesterday.

He cleaned INSIDE the toilet cistern instead... inside! With bleach!

Who's going to see that?
