She likes psychological thrillers .. has read behind closed doors and liked that and I think all the CL taylor books and girl on a train so something like this would be great

The "Charlie Parker" series by John Connolly are good - they have an element of the supernatural about them, but are also fab murder mystery stories with loads of twists and turns in the plot.

She might like the Nikki. Frech Frieda Klein Series.

Also I let You Go by Claire Mackintosh is very good and has a great twist.

LeMesmer · 21/12/2017 07:02

Dennis Lehane's thrillers are very good. Also Pierre Lemaitre is excellent, but can be a bit graphic at times, so probably avoid if she wouldn't like that.

Shoxfordian · 21/12/2017 15:31

She might like Tana French books or the Magpie Murders by Anthony Horowitz was good

emsmum79 · 21/12/2017 17:59

Definitely Linwood Barclay

Zaphodsotherhead · 21/12/2017 18:30

Maybe one of Sue Fortin's books? Pretty gripping.

imsorryiasked · 21/12/2017 18:53

Jeffery Deaver books always have a great twist - the early ones are better in my opinion. If you go for more recent ones then it's best to read them in order.

Pansythepotter · 21/12/2017 19:02

The Gitlfriendis good

SpencerHastings · 21/12/2017 21:33

the truth about the harry quebert affair

StillTryingHard · 22/12/2017 01:09

Second suggestion above of Nikki French Frieda Klein series - must read in order

Saladtongs · 22/12/2017 04:08

Henning Mankell the Inspector Kurt Wallander series.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 22/12/2017 05:26

Sophie Hannah?

GoJetterGirl · 22/12/2017 12:40

I rate Sophie Hannah as a writer, anything in the Zailer Waterhouse series is good, I'd recommend starting h at the beginning, Little Face is the first book in the series, there's about 8/9 in total, great writing that really lets you get into the characters heads...

Anything by Sharon/SJ Bolton (books issued under both names). If you get anything with Lacey Flint in, make sure you get them in order.

Barbara Vine, or some of her books as Ruth Rendell.

BestIsWest · 22/12/2017 17:31

goose1964 · 22/12/2017 22:15

Kathy Reich's, her books are a lot grittier than Bones, any Sandra Brown

Lisamac1988 · 22/12/2017 23:34

The girl on the train if that’s what it’s called
