I have a wonderful friend who I love dearly. I have presents from my children to hers (who I love just as much) I am struggling this year with ideas for a gift for her. She is not materialistic at all. We have talked about how the children get l too much maybe at Christmas and how we'd like to slow this down a little bit and perhaps focus on experiences. (I have 3 children under 6 and she has 2)
So, my husband is out at the cinema with my eldest 2 and I suddenly thought it might be a marvellous idea to buy cinema tickets and offer a nights babysitting. Or are cinema tickets only given to teenagers?! Would it be odd? Or would you quite like this as a Christmas gift? Just to clarify, it would be 2 cinema tickets and a nights babysitting (overnight if need be!)

Sounds great to me, especially the babysitting. Wish you were my friend Smile

I did this years ago for friends. Kids' present was a video, hotdogs, popcorn and a sleepover at ours; parents' present was 2 cinema tickets. They took the opportunity to have a good few drinks afterwards and were pretty hungover when we met them the next day to hand the kids back. Both kids and adults were v happy with their gifts.
