Phone with a good camera for a 9 year old?

Can anyone recommend a phone with a decent (doesn't have to be the best!) camera for a first phone?

I want to buy a simless phone - at the moment my son just wants one for the games and camera (he's into doing stop frame animation) but as he's getting more independent I guess we'll put a SIM in it at some point (so I can track him mwahahaa!)

I'm hoping for something that doesn't cost the earth! Anyone got any ideas?

I recommend the Moto g 5 but the 4 and 3 have the same great rear camera 13 MP I believe. Silly thing is it probably cheaper on contract than to buy outright (mine was) how about a grade a secondhand one at cex

DH just bought the Moto G5 and he is very happy with it

Looks great - but It's £150!

Can anyone recommend anything cheaper?

I think I might brace AIBU for traffic. Wish me luck!

It's 12.50 a month on Tesco 24 month contract, you could put a cap on it ( ihave limit of a fiver over my bill only) no cost for the phone. I recommend a tempered glass screen protector as the g5 does not have a gorilla screen ( it's saved my bacon Vs a concrete carpark)
