Maybe a question asked previously on here but me and DH always have this every year. Do you give presents to children or are they all from Father Christmas?

packofshunts- all presents from other family /friends are labelled from them

mustbemad17 · 19/12/2017 19:57

All presents from us/family. FC simply delivers them. Not having him take all the credit 😂

Coloursthatweremyjoy · 19/12/2017 20:00

So glad we aren't the only ones disliking the idea of FC getting all the credit!

I thought we had issues!

well clearly we have issues but at least we aren't alone

Snausage · 19/12/2017 20:06

Father Christmas delivers stockings, here! Everything else is from whoever gave them.

When DP was growing up, Father Christmas was just a glorified FedEx man, which I find really odd. His sister still does the same for her kids.

Notso · 19/12/2017 20:14

Why should the fat fella get all the credit?

Why do you need the credit? In any case you get the recognition eventually, when they're in on it.

SideOrderofSprouts · 19/12/2017 20:16

All here

mustbemad17 · 19/12/2017 20:18

Notso because we work hard for the gifts the fat man delivers 😂😂

daisypond · 19/12/2017 20:19

Father Christmas brings the stocking presents - small ones, as he has to carry them around, and not expensive either, as he has to deliver similar stuff to every child in the world. Everything else under tree with labels from Mum and Dad, Granny. etc...

daisypond · 19/12/2017 20:20

Meant to add - he gives the stocking presents, he doesn't just deliver them.

Hulder · 19/12/2017 20:22

Stocking from FC stocking turned into a pillowcase around teen years

Everything else from real people. It's not just about parents getting the credit, it's about children understanding that yes there is magic but there is also never, alas, going to be a pony and they have to buy gifts too, even for the aunty they don't really like, and they have to say thank-you for things they aren't maybe that grateful for. Because this is all part of growing up.

LearnFromThePast · 19/12/2017 20:23

Stocking from F.C. and everything else from whoever buys them. Explains differences between gifts and so on

DaisysStew · 19/12/2017 20:38

One present from Father Christmas (whatever he asked for in his letter) and the rest from me! Not having F.C steal my glory. Xmas Grin

Notso · 19/12/2017 21:01

Same here mustbemad still happy to get the credit from knowing 'we did this'.

sweetsomethings · 19/12/2017 21:04

I don't care that santa gets all the credit the truth will come out eventually . I really don't any credit

sweetsomethings · 19/12/2017 21:05

Hulder Xmas is one day of the year they can spend the rest of the year learning those lessons

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 19/12/2017 21:33

Here it was always little things only in stockings from Santa - so they couldn't ask for anything too expensive/impossible and be disappointed. Other presents came from family.

Same when I was little. Never stopped stockings being hugely exciting!

Delatron · 19/12/2017 21:34

Anyone else grew up doing it differently to their DH and therefore argue over it?
For me, everything was from Santa, I remember how magical and amazing it was coming downstairs to see an over flowing stocking, 'he'd' been!

DH is strongly against this, wants us to give the main presents, wants most presents under the tree and only a few token gifts from Santa. I think for now that spoils the Magic a bit and they may think they haven't been 'good'.

I had no idea there were loads of different ways of doing it. He gets very cross and thinks my family are strange for this!!

SleepingBooty · 19/12/2017 21:34

All from us/ Gparents etc. Santa is the delivery driver.

HighwayDragon1 · 19/12/2017 21:42

Stocking and the 3 gifts from her list from Santa. The rest are from us.

WipsGlitter · 19/12/2017 22:20

Stocking and pike if presents s from Santa. Other presents from whoever bought them although we generally see them on the day anyway for hand overs.

Me and DH get them one gift each as well.

WipsGlitter · 19/12/2017 22:23

The interesting thing for me about these threads is the amount of presents kids get from "other people". My kids get from my sister, one aunt and one uncle. Possibly from grandfather. It always seems on these threads as if kids get stacks from others people / family members.

Arlama10 · 19/12/2017 22:27

Stocking from Santa and one gift from their list. The rest are from family & friends. As a child I only received a stocking from Santa. DD questioned me a few weeks back asking why her friend from school gets lots of presents from Santa and she only gets one 😬 Really put me on the spot!

K1092902 · 19/12/2017 22:28

Main present from us and then obviously gifts from santa. Little bits and bobs/stockings from Santa

RainbowWish · 19/12/2017 22:33

We say all are from Santa but mum, dad, grandparents etc send Santa money to help pay for it all so the kids understand there is still a financial cost. Xmas Grin

Lisamac1988 · 20/12/2017 00:04

Most from Santa and some from us,I would say there all from Santa but as were running out of room to store them the kids have picked up on the wrapped presents at the top of the wardrobes.lol
