Presents for 14 and 17 year old girls...

Have just belatedly realise that we really ought to get something for NDN's daughters. NDN has been so sweet since our DD arrived this year and has given us a few presents at various milestones along the way.

I could play it safe and get them an Amazon gift card. Would around £20 each be ok?

Or any other ideas? I feel a bit out of touch with the yoof. I've passed on a few bits of make up and toiletries that I don't use and they've seemed to like those.

I think they would be really pleased with an Amazon gift card - at that age they like to choose their own things. Otherwise I would suggest some smelliest probably Soap and Glory or Jack Wills. Gift sets from Lush or Hotel Chocolat chocolates also go down well here.

Smellies not smelliest- bloody autocorrect

Amazon gift card would be very well received by dd(16). (In fact, cash is all she wants for Christmas.) I can’t comment on the £20 as it all depends on your personal situation, how well you know them etc etc.

Honestly, do you think it's a bit stingy? We could afford more, just didn't want to be OTT

I don't think it's at all stingy, £20 is a good amount. It says you appreciate them or your NDN, but isn't too much as to make them or NDN feel awkward or embarrassed by the gesture.

Fancy chocolates and £20 each sounds about right.

Lush is good for this age group. As is Victoria's Secret gifts - they do lots of nice things.

alletik · 17/12/2017 19:59

I'd second Victoria's Secret. My 14yo loves that stuff.

Thank you, Nearly, that's the balance I was looking to strike!

And thanks all.
