If you were my friend and had had a really tough year, what gift would you like?

My friend has had a really tough year. Lots of difficult stuff going on. I'd like to treat her this year but have no inspiration. Budget around £50 but could spend more if I had a good idea!

Any suggestions?

Probably a night away somewhere potentially with my nice friend who bought me the gift. Somewhere we can have a wander about and a chat

What sort of stuff is she in to?

Newtothis2017 · 16/12/2017 15:52

Pedicure

Tinselistacky · 16/12/2017 15:52

A voucher for a haircut would be my treat!!

Voucher for a local beauty salon

A spa day or 1/2 spa day. You can get vouchers via groupon from about £30+ usually include lunch, treatment and use of facilities

I was going to say spa day too. One where you both can go and have a nice lunch and treatment and relax and chat.
After a tough year I’d love it if a friend did this for me.

A massage?

Mxyzptlk · 16/12/2017 22:42

I'd like a relaxing day or evening with my friend (you, OP) involving maybe a massage, or a film or show, but with plenty of time just chilling and chatting - with maybe a little wine too.

usernameinfinito · 16/12/2017 22:44

Your time. Nice cup of tea and a chat.

LaughingLlama · 16/12/2017 22:45

An event or trip or like has already been suggested.
Spa treatment - reflexology/manicure/massage
Or
Afternoon tea.

For me it's the fact someone goes to the trouble of planning something - to take the hassle out of it. But that said, a voucher for something like mentioned above might be best if unsure of her calendar.

A day trip to somewhere she likes.
I did this for my friend, spent £30 on tickets then didn’t have to spend again until the day, it spread the cost a bit.
Or a spa afternoon. Always a winner.

Personally I'd hate a spa day....

I'd much prefer a stack of books (or book tokens), some really nice hot chocolate and a pair of cashmere socks

Brokenbiscuit · 17/12/2017 03:53

Thank you all for your suggestions. I think she would like a spa day.

Something thoughtful/personalised and over something expensive and most importantly your time :) Both of these will make her feel better coming from a thoughtful friend such as yourself :)

Give her the £50
