I’ve just seen a pop up that says ‘Oxfam unwrapped’ have a sale on. They have some awesome gifts such as goats, clean water, schooling etc so you can give a present to anyone tricky that helps others and is half price to boot. Tempted? If you buy a goat come back and tell me then I can feel like I’ve helped fill a field full! I’ve got to decide who’s going to get my first goat now!

OP, if you want a goat (or a field-full), then ask people to buy them for YOU. Don't push your charity choices on to others, please!

Okay Whitney

OP wasn't pushing her choices @Whitney168 , just letting people know about the sale. Would you have been quite so rude if the post had been about any other sale? How unpleasant

Whitney168 · 17/12/2017 16:10

You misunderstand me, actually secondhoneymoon - anyone can indeed post anything they like on here.

My issue is that OP is off now looking for people to buy half-price goats for, thereby implying that they are not natural fits for these as a present even though the OP thinks it's great.

I give to several charities on a monthly basis, I'm not an uncharitable soul. However, they are charities of my own choosing. If OP wants to support Oxfam, she should be asking people to buy her goats instead of presents, not making the decision that they should have them/support a charity that they may/may not wish to.

Really??? I was just drawing attention to the offer so that anyone who is finding any friends or family difficult to buy for could consider these options. I would be happy to receive a goat or drinking water for people who need it. Much better than plastic crap I’ll never use. There’s really no need to be so sanctimonious. No-one is forcing you to do anything - I was trying to help.

@Fragglewump- plenty of people on my list would qualify for the 'pile of poo' as a present! Thanks for sharing!

Glovebug · 17/12/2017 18:33
