Vintage paper angels

Does anyone remember these paper (or thin card strictly speaking) angels? My mum used to buy them on flat sheets from our local post office and we'd press them out and make them up. This was late 70s or so.

Do these still exist anywhere now? Google throws up nothing unless I'm not using the right search terms.

Rarely on Ebay....hard to find that kind of thing as paper ephemera wasn't made to last of course and nobody makes them now.

Did find these though

Not quite so pretty but Baker Ross do paper angels like this for children to colour and assemble.

Sorey for the long link but there's some on Etsy similar to the ones in your picture

Oh they're nice Mistoff shows you how easy it is to make your own really though....I've got lovely vintage papers I could do some!

BSJohnson · 16/12/2017 09:41

I remember those! Used to love making them as a child. They came on postcard card sized rectangles, and you had to pop them out to assemble. Were they in support of a charity?

Back to say ‘Squueeeeeeee!!!!’

Psychonabike · 19/12/2023 18:30

@BSJohnson 😁

So I found about 5 sheets in my attic.

I'm quite sentimental about them as it was my grandpa that bought them and would give us a few each Christmas. He has now passed away, and I found them in a box of his stuff that found its way to my attic.

Do I seize the day and give them to my DC to enjoy (12, 9 and 5) or just keep them hidden away with other special mementos of mine?

LittleStrayMouser · 19/12/2023 20:28

Ooh, tough one @Psychonabike .

I think split the difference: let the dc do some to continue the lovely tradition, but keep one or two back as a memento.
