Board game for my dad?

My quite traditional (stuffy Smile) dad has a couple of friends who he’s been playing scrabble with. I’m wondering if there’s another board game I can get him but it needs to be quite simple and calm.

It’s either that or a hamper type thing for the nth year!

Can anyone think of anything? I’ve googled but am feeling stupid.

Upwords?
It's 3D scrabble.

Yes, looks great and cheap enough that I’ve got a bottle of niceish port to go with it.

Tick!

Thanks.

QWIRKLE - Along the same lines as scrabble, and super fun to play

Oh thank you everyone, I’ve actually gone ahead with upwards though!

I’ll investigate the others with birthday in mind though.

Bananagram tiles is a fast, fun word game similar to scrabble.

Bananagram

The cheapest place to get it from is the Works, it's £7 there & upto £14.99 in other places.

Ticket to the ride! I am sure your dad's gonna like it. My sister gave that to my dad a few years ago and he loved it ever since.

Soon as I read op I was going to say up words, I brought it one year for my scrabble loving grandparents and they loved it, I hope your dad does too.
