Can anyone recommend a teapot??

DH and Dd love their tea. I'd like to buy them a teapot, possibly with matching cups for Christmas. Any recommendations? Or are they all much of a muchness?

They are not much of a muchness, but hard to tell if it is good beforehand.

Are they sharing the teapot, and do they like a nice generous cup or two - in which case get a big one, and be aware that sometimes the number of cups they claim you can get out of the pot is verging on fantasy.

Metal pots can sometimes be too hot to hold if you get a cheap one.

Some pots come with a little internal mesh to put the leaves in - personally I don't like these, and find them fiddly and difficult to clean.

Ones that drip or are difficult to pour are a massive pain, not sure how to tell without trying it out though.

I have a nice traditional style blue teapot from the London pottery company, which I love, but it looks homely rather than elegant imo. It pours beautifully.

We have Le crueset tea pots they are awesome and never drip .

I've got the Le Crueset round one.
It's a rubbish pourer but looks gorgeous so I forgive its faults.

Dh bought it as an apology cos he broke the lid off my good one so I can't complain too much

I have the tall Le Creuset one and it's fab. They do matching mugs too, in different shapes.

I have never met a metal teapot that didn't leak/drip .

I have one of these £28 Ikea. Stainless thermal/ double walled to help stay warm.

It has a plunger so you can stop the brewing without fishing the tea/ bags out and doubles as a cafetiere. It has a lovely wide non dribble spout thats really satisfying to pour from without spilling.

Stellar make fantastic stainless steel teapots . They’re fab for brewing tea on a stove if you have one .
I also have an Emma Bridgewater one which is very pretty and doesn’t drip .
Denby make the best pottery ones ( in my opinion ) andyoull be able to buy mugs to match .
Have a look at their website , they often have sales and you can double up Tesco points towards them .

I've got a Le Crueset one, it's teal and divine. And pisses out tea like a fountain. I didn't imagine I'd have to use it over the sink every time .

Emma Bridgewater do great tea pots and mugs but they are quite expensive

I love my Vintage Beryl teapot by Woods ware (that isn't it btw - but you can only get them on ebay or if lucky in a charity shop/antique shop now.

I’ve had one like this for almost15 years and it’s still pouring perfectly . Most of my family have these too but we’re all farmers and enjoy our tea 😂. Mine was a wedding present .
If you like the Emma Bridgewater ones I got one for my sister’s birthday a couple of years ago for £20 in the Christmas sale . It was supposedly a secondbutitwas signed and there wasn’t the usual black pen mark on it like there are on the seconds . I was the best sister ever that year .

I saw some nice Christmas ones in asda reduced to a fiver.

I've got a Denby Heritage teapot, which I've had for a while'. I love its comfortable shape,. Mine is a brown glaze but you can get a range of colours.
