Fantasy board game for 5 yo

sunshine546 · 13/12/2017 13:49

My 5 year old has started to show an interest in older board games so I have been making up some simple scenarios so he can play along eg if you roll a six you will cross the bridge .. oh no there's a troll under it.. roll a four to defeat him etc

But I am finding it quite mentally taxing being creative!!! Is there anything like this for young kids

Thanks

This might be a little too old for him, but worth a look www.johnlewis.com/wild-card-games-astronauts-space-game/p2707331
Also try this www.skirungame.com
This is probably less of what you're looking for, but perhaps better for his age www.johnlewis.com/ravensburger-scotland-yard-junior-board-game/p3055180

We have the game 'outfoxed' which is a cooperative detective game where you have to roll dice and gather clues to work out who the thief is. Fab game!

Not really on your fantasy theme so to speak but Orchard toys 'What a Performance' is a great one. Roll the dice, read forfeit cards, go back two places etc, act out or make noises for others to guess.

Cauldron quest. My kids loved it from that age, it is non competitive, the players together against the game, so it is easy to explain what to do to them without them feeling like you are helping too much.
Sounds like a more developed version of yours, except it's a witch... Grin

That sounds perfect bumper but can't find it anywhere! Looked online and it's ££££ on Amazon

Oh dear, maybe they don't make it anymore so it's expensive. What a shame. Can you find others made by the same company?
