Presents for dh elderly parents?

My dh parents are elderly 70 & 80 years old, they have everything they want and need.
So what can we get them?
We've done pics of grandchildren on canvas, we've done things from when they were born. Everything really
They don't drink either. Any ideas gratefully received

I’ve bought the in laws an amazon dot ! Fil (80 soon) will love it... I’m looking forward to seeing the sour face on my step MIL face . She hates it when we go off piste....

Have they got a garden - if so there are loads of things - or do they like houseplants?
Theatre vouchers?

One of those calendars you make with your own photos that have lots of pictures of the grandchildren?

Electronic photo frame? Preloaded with some favourites?

We've got
95yo great granny a fancy tea and biscuits set and a framed school photo of the kids - she doesn't like things that 'fill up her flat' or that she might have to keep as 'I'll be dead soon' (she's been saying that for the past 15yrs or so)
72yo granny with Alzheimer's is getting photos & pictures by the kids, her favourite perfume from when she was younger and some nice biscuits and a book she likes
70yo granny is getting a funny Xmas jumper, a beautiful silk jewellery roll, funny book and some homemade sloe gin
70yo grandad is getting a large gorgeous framed print we bought at a gallery
67yo grandad & partner are getting a wine society membership

Take them out somewhere for a day or a meal.
No clutter and company/fun for them.

My gp used to love cashmere bedsocks from the White Company - he wore through them so we got him a pair every year. Not something he would have bought himself.

We've got similar aged in-laws vouchers for a very nice pub near them for lunch/dinner.

A hamper from a smoked salmon company. Both for my DF, and the ILs.

Bird feeder and food to within, a bean bag lap tray

Anything that isn't 'clutter' -

take them out for afternoon tea
huge bunch of flowers
food/drink

I’ll be 66 next week and agree with ‘anything that isn’t clutter’.
I’ve actually asked DD2 for a mattress protector!
I like gardening so garden centre vouchers work for me.
Voucher for tea in a nice tea shop.
No chocolates or flowers or pot plants.

My Nan is in her 80's and last year I bought her a calendar with pictures of her favourite dog breed on.
Went down a storm and has been well used.

I have bought her another this year

She also doesn't like clutter and can't/doesn't want to go out much now due to serious health problems so the calendars for the bill for her.

A kettle that fills the cup with water without having to lift it and pour hot water re safety. They sell them most places incl B&M

Things that my mum has liked:

Anything which involves us doing things with her e.g. tickets for a musical but we went with her and did all the organising, driving etc, so all she had to do was enjoy the experience.

DVDs of films or TV shows we knew she'd like.

Books.

A warm wrap thing - not sure what it's called but it's like a woollen shawl for wrapping round her shoulders when she's sitting. This has been used every day and she often comments on how much she likes it.

M&S body sprays and room sprays.

M&S box of chocolate biscuits.

These were well received:

Posh thermals
Nice hand cream for after gardening etc
A short shawl to cover shoulders (my GM always had a cup of coffee and biscuit in bed)
Chutneys and preserves with cheese selection
Small Photo album with pics of all the family incl GPs (wedding day etc) was handy to take in for hospital stays or carehome.
Magnifying glass
Bird feeder you can attach to a window.

Also it’s worth a look on some of the websites for items for older people there’s things like mugs and cups with wider handles and grips for arthritic hands (and look quite fancy) or coasters which glow at night so it’s easier to find your water/spectacles/keys.
