Any suggestions to make DH's birthday on Christmas Day special?

Hi Ladies,

We are having a rare quiet Christmas this year, just my husband and I.

Christmas Day is also my husband's birthday! Hmm Since we're not having any visitors, I would like to make it all about him for once!

Any suggestions to make it an extra special day for him??

Thanks in advance!

I would get some birthday balloons and banners to decorate the house so that the house isn't just Christmassy. Have a special breakfast together? Food he loves but doesn't have a lot? Does he like walking? It would be nice to go for a lovely long walk- and take a flask and a birthday cakeCake

I would celebrate his Birthday in the morning with breakfast in bed and some balloons. Maybe a cupcake with a candle on. Special gift.

Then have Christmas day in the afternoon.

As it's just the two of you - maybe cook his favourite meal instead of turkey? Or something a bit special such as cheese fondue, or nice steak with blue cheese sauce. A birthday cake which doesn't double up as Christmas cake is nice, DP has a Christmas birthday so I try to keep it separate.

Thank you all for your great ideas, they've really inspired me to make my husband's birthday as special as possible! Thinking lots of little surprises and mini gifts throughout the day should keep him happy!

Ideas I have so far:

  • open Christmas presents
  • make his favourite breakfast
  • long walk with our dogs, at end of our walk drive to somewhere with a nice view, sit in the boot of our 4x4 covered with nice blankets and cushions and enjoy a flask of hot chocolate with whipped cream and a birthday cupcake with a candle
  • back home, have livingroom covered with balloons and banners and a surprise indoor picnic in our livingroom with champagne and canapes (and pies - his fave!)
  • a surprise video call with his family to wish him a happy birthday
  • offer him a spa treatment, facial and back massage
  • play some Christmas board games
  • make him a 3 course dinner
  • for our last course, coffee and dessert out on our balcony with a lit fire, wrapped warm in blankets
  • a piece of chocolate placed on his side of the bed before bedtime

:)
